Ⅰ. Analysis of teaching material
The content of this lesson is《PEP Primary English》Book 3 Unit 1 B Let’s learn &Let’s do. This unit is about stationery which is very close and familiar to our daily life. So the Ss will be interested in this topic. In this lesson, Let’s learn mainly deals with the stationery words: bag, pen, pencil box, book. And in Let’s do, it provides a real situation for the Ss to practice the words.
Ⅱ. Analysis of students
The learners are Grade 3students. At the aspect of forward learning , Ss know about the stationery words like pencil , ruler, crayon, eraser. Ss are interested in this topic. Ss can master the language knowledge under teacher’s guidance and have a command of communication skills. The students have got certain learning ability, which still needs well improving in this lesson through some exercises.
Ⅲ. Teaching objectives
1. Knowledge objectives:
a. Ss will be able to listen, say and read these words: bag, pen, pencil box, book.
b. Learn these expressions: Open your pencil box. Show me your pen. Close your book. Carry your bag.
2. Ability objectives:
Ss will be able to do the actions according to teacher’s orders.
3. Emotion objectives:
Permeate the emotional education of learning and cherishing stationery.
Ⅳ. Teaching important and difficult points
1.The important points
a. Ss can listen, say and read the new words.
b. Ss can do the actions according to teacher’s orders.

How to enable Ss to remember the new words
Ⅴ. Teaching methods, learning methods & aids
1. Teaching methods: task-based teaching method, communicative teaching method, situational method, TPR teaching method.
2. Learning methods: group work and individual work method, cooperative language learning method.
3. Teaching aids: multimedia, blackboard, projector.
Ⅵ. Teaching procedures
Step1 Pre-tasks
1. Warming up: Sing a song《Hello》. Playing this song to capture Ss’ attention and let them be full of confidence.
2. Free talk: What’s your name Have a free talk with Ss : What’s your name My name’s ……Goodbye/Bye. Its aim is to review the expressions of asking names. The core sentence pattern of this unit is reviewed and a good atmosphere is prepared for Ss to learn English.
3. Game: Sharp eyes. Ss say the words according to PPT. Reviewing the key words will help Ss easy to come to the next step.
Step2 While-tasks
Now Zoom has some school things. Watch the video. What does he have
1. Learn new words and expressions
a. bag & Carry your bag. Show PPT, Ss listen. Pay attention to “a / /”. Ask Ss to read “bag” one by one. Do the action of “Carry your bag.”
b. pen &Show me your pen. Show PPT, Ss listen. Notice the sound of “e/e/, n/n/”. Ask Ss to read “pen” group by group. Do the action of “Show me……”
c. pencil box &Open your pencil box. Show PPT, Ss listen. Read “o/ /”.Ask boys to read “pencil box” first, then ask girls to read. Do the action of “Open your pencil box.”
d. book& Close your book. Show PPT, Ss listen. Notice the sound of “oo/u/, k/k/”. Read “book” together. Do the action of “Close your book.” With the PPT and the action help, the new words and expressions can be presented well. Ss will be able to learn effectively.
2. Look and say Show PPT, Ss look at the pictures and try to say the hiding words. The purpose of this design is to develop the ability of saying new words.
3. Look and match P10 Show PPT, Ss look at the word cards. Can you put the cards under the right pictures This step can help Ss to practice all the words in this unit .
4. Read and count P9 Show PPT, work in groups to finish this task. To make Ss develop the ability of cooperation.
Step3 Post-tasks
1. Let’s do Play “Let’s do”, read and do the actions . This TPR task can stimulate Ss’ interest in learning English.
2. Moral education Show pictures of the children in poor areas, Ss think: What can we do for these poor children Can we give them some stationery
Educate Ss to value their stationery, care for others and cherish the good life.
Step4 Summary & Homework
Invite some Ss to summarize what they have got in this class. Homework Choose one from the under three tasks. Read “Let’s learn”. Act out “Let’s do” with your partner. Draw and say: What’s in your bag Ss can choose different homework. Grading homework can help Ss of different grades learning better.
