Warming up Step1: T: Good morning, boys and girls.Ss: Good morning, Cici.T: How are you today Ss: I am happy.T: I am happy, too. Today is not a very nice day outside. But I’m glad to see you again. So I want to show you a video. You should watch it very carefully. It’s very interesting. You can enjoy it. (Play the video------Old MacDonald had a Farm) T: From the video, what can you see Ss: House, grass, sun, lake, tree, old man, cat, dog, old man, panda… T: Very good. We can see so many things. Especially, we can see cat, dog and panda. The cat is a pet. The dog is a pet, too. But the panda is not a pet. Because cat and dog live in home, panda live in zoo. Therefore, we know pets live in home.T: Today let’s learn the new lesson----Unit 4 Pets.
Presentation 1. T: Boys and girls，look! This is my pet, her name is Snowball. I love it so much. Do you want to have a pet like me Ss: Yes.T: Next, let’s go to the Pet Shop and see some pets.2. Show some pictures and lead students to say them in English.For example: Teach the word “snake” like this:(1)The boy and his father are playing the game. Ss guess the name of the game.(2) According to the shape lead in the new word----snake.Let Ss look at the screen. (1)Ss observe the size of apples on the screen---- the first one is big and the second one is small.(2)Ss observe the length of pens on the screen---- the first one is short and the second one is long.Using these methods introduce the new words and sentences.Play a song----PPAP.Using this song lead in the new sentence----- I have a….
Practice Part A: Ss do a guessing game according to the picture： What’ missing Part B: Student can chose one card from Pet Shop, and make own sentences by using the new sentence structures.Part C: Ss can correct spelling the words and writing these sentences under the guidance of the teacher.
Production Let the students do a group work. Drawing a picture about your pet and then use the new sentences to introduce it.At last, Ss come the front of the blackboard and introduce their own pets.
