Step1 Revision Show the pictures of animals. Remember the animals we have learned. Read the words of animals together. 2．Can you tell me something amazing about these animals (1) What do snakes do in winter (2) What can camels do (3) What do you know about giraffes (4) Can ants smell well Srep2 Presentation Simon collected some information about amazing things. Let’s have a look. Show the information and picture of sandwiches. Ask: Do you like eating sandwiches Where did “sandwich” get its name from (It got its name from a man called John Montagu, the Fourth Earl of Sandwich.) What did the man love doing (He loved playing cards.) How did he make a sandwich (He put meat between two pieces of bread．) Show the information and picture of TV. Ask: Does your family have a TV How many TVs do you have When and where was the first TV show (It was in the UK in 1926.) How many TVs were in use per 100 Chinese families in 1987 (About 29) How big can TVs be now (They can be as large as 152 inches.) 3．New words: sandwich a piece of as large as inch Step3 Learn the model article. Simon wrote an article about sandwiches. Ask Ss to read the article Para by Para． Talk about the article: Para1:introduction Para2:give the theme Para3:facts about sandwiches Para4:feeling Step4 Writing 1．Now we’ll write about amazing things. You’ve already collected some facts. Would anyone like to share your amazing things with us Ask Ss to tell us about the amazing things. 2．Talk about the information in groups of four. 3．Finish the article by themselves. Step5 Homework: Finish and correct the article in class. Try to remember the words and phrases of this unit.
