Review (5min) Show the photo of John, Anthony and Christian to remind Ss of the story. Play a video about the story. Play the recording and ask Ss to read after the recording. Grammar (22min) Direct Ss to focus on the adverbs of manners by completing the sentences from the story. Lead Ss to observe the words in the brackets and work out the rules for forming adverbs of manners from adjectives. Direct Ss to focus on the position of adverbs of manners in a sentence. Ask Ss to complete sentences by circling the correct words.
