Part 1 Analysis of the teaching material
1. Status and Function
This lesson is chosen from the first semester of grade1, Unit 6 “fruit” The topic of this lesson is “Do you like... ”
This unit is very interesting because there are many fruits in this lesson. After learning this unit, students could use “Do you like… ” and other sentence structures to express their favorite fruit.
2. Teaching aims and demands
Knowledge object
To listen, read and say the new sentence forms:“Do you like… Yes, I do. /No, I don’t.”
Ability object
To develop students’ abilities of listening and speaking.
Emotional object
To improve students’ interest in learning English and be able to foster good habit of eating fruits every day.
3. Key point and Difficulty
1)Key points: To help students ask the question:“Do you like… ”And the answer:“Yes , I do./ No, I don’t.”
2)Difficulty: To understand and use the plural forms.
The second part I want to say is the analysis of the students.
Part 2 Analysis of the students
Some of the students don’t have many good learning methods. But they are curious. They enjoy learning through cooperation in a relaxing atmosphere.

In this lesson, I teach the sentence patterns by setting a situation“Simba’s birthday”.

Step 1 Review and Lead-in.

At the beginning of class, I show students some funny picture to review the words “apple banana pear and orange”. Then I show the plural forms of these words. I stick these pictures on the fruit tree and write these words on the blackboard. And then I Let students to compare the singular and plural forms of them. Have Ss say the sentences with“I like…”or“I don’t like”. Finally, I invite them to chant.
(Purpose: Review the words and lead students into the new lesson smoothly and arouse the students’ interest.)
Step 2 Presentation
1. Presentation of the sentence structures
I ask students to listen to the text recording, and then answer the question: What fruit can you hear After that I give students 3 tasks.
Task 1:Listen and answer:“What fruit does Joy like or dislike ”
Task 2: Watch and fill in the blanks.
Task 3: Read it better.
Listening and speaking training is very important in English teaching. So I designed these tasks to improve students listening and speaking abilities.
(Purpose: Let students grasp the sentence structures, improve their listening, speaking and reading abilities.)
Step 3 Practice

Let’s buy some fruit.
I show a fruit shop to students. Give them three minutes to make a conversation in groups. Then I invite them to show their conversations.
2. Let’s act
I set a situation “Simba’s birthday”. Simba is a lion king. Students love him very much. He will have a birthday party. His friends will come and visit him. He prepared many fruits for them. The animals are very happy. Then students put on the head wears and make a role-play .
(Purpose: Develop students’ abilities of communication and cooperation. By using the target language to consolidate the key structure and improve their speaking skills.)
Step 4 Summary
1. choose a number
Have students choose a number ,then ,practice the sentences with“Do you like ... ”
I tell students that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, that means, eating more fruits can keep our healthy! Let’s sing the song together.
2. Enjoy a song.
(Purpose: Strengthen what students’ have learnt in this class and make students foster the good habit of eating fruits every day.
