精讲点拨 —How long have you had that bike over there —I’ve had it for three years. how long在此处引导特殊疑问句，用于询问“多长时间”，常与现在完成时连用。对其回答时常用“for+时间段（for可省略）”“since+过去的时间点或从句”或“since+时间段+ago”。 eg：—How long has she been in China 她在中国多久了？ —She has been in China since three years ago.她三年前就在中国了。 —How long have you learned English 你学英语多久了？ —For more than five years./More than five years.五年多了。 Amy wants to keep her old things because they bring back sweet memories. memory 在此处作可数名词，其复数形式为 memories。 eg：What is your earliest memory 你最早的记忆是什么？ 【拓展】① memory 作名词，还可意为“记忆力”。 eg：I have a bad memory.我的记忆力不好。 ② memorize 作动词，意为“记忆”。 eg：My Chinese teacher asked me to memorize the poem.我的语文老师让我记住这首诗。 bring back意为“带回……”。bring back是由动词bring与副词back构成的“动词+副词”型短语，如果其宾语为人称代词，则应放在bring与back之间；如果其宾语为名词，则可以放在bring与back之间，也可以放在back之后。 eg：Your article brings back happy memories for me. 你的文章勾起了我美好的回忆。 You can also give old things away to people in need. eg：He was giving his collection away for nothing. 他免费赠送他的收藏品。 【拓展】与 give 相关易混淆的短语有： give out 分发；give off 放出，释放；give in 投降，屈服；give up 停止，放弃；give or take 相差不到……。 eg：He wouldn’t give out any information.他不愿透露任何信息。 Three thousand people came, give or take a few hundred. 来了三千人，大概有几百人。 You can also give old things away to people in need. in need 意为“贫困；在困境中”，为固定短语。in need of 意为“需要……”。 eg：We are collecting money for children in need.我们正在为有需要的孩子募款。 A friend in need is a friend in deed.(谚语)患难见真情。 After working for twelve hours, she was in great need of a rest. 工作了12个小时后，她非常需要休息。
