01 语法精讲
系动词的用法
1．系动词的定义
系动词本身有一定的意义，但意义不完整，不能单独作谓语，要和后面的表语(由名词、形容词、介词短语或者动名词充当)构成系表结构，表示主语的身份、性质或状态，这样的动词称之为系动词。
2．系动词的句法功能
(1)系动词后接形容词作表语，不接副词。
The idea sounds good.( √ )

(2)系动词不能用于进行时态。
(3)系动词无被动语态。
The dress feels soft.( √ )
The dress is felt soft.( × )
3．常用的系动词
最常用的系动词就是be动词。除了be动词之外，还有很多感官动词，如look(看上去), sound(听起来)，smell(闻起来), taste(尝起来), feel(摸起来)等。它们本身有词义，但不能单独作谓语，后面必须接形容词作表语，构成系表结构，说明主语的状况、特征或性质等。如：
The children look very happy on Children's Day.在“六一”儿童节孩子们看起来非常高兴。
The flowers smell sweet.这些花闻起来很香。
The dish tastes salty.这道菜尝起来很咸。
The sofa feels comfortable.这沙发摸起来很舒服。
【注意】这类动词与be动词不同，变疑问句和否定句时要借助助动词。如：
The party sounds noisy.这次聚会听起来很吵。
一般疑问句：Does the party sound noisy？这次聚会听起来很吵吗？
否定句：The party doesn't sound noisy.这次聚会听起来不吵。
