Unit 3 I’m more outgoing than my sister.
Period 2
一、教学目标:
1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下单词及其比较级的用法:tall, short, long, high, smart, quiet, fast, hard, friendly, funny, lazy, early, thin, fat, outgoing, hard-working, popular, interesting, beautiful, important.
2) 能掌握以下句型:
I’m taller than Tom.
She has longer hair than Tom.
2. 能力目标:
能用本节课所学内容,用比较级描述自己和朋友的差异,并能写一个段落。
3. 情感态度价值观目标:
善于发现朋友与自己的异同,能对人物的外表进行描绘,个性进行比较。
二、教学重难点
1. 教学重点:
1) 形容词或副词比较级形式的构成。
2) 表示两者进行比较的句式结构。
2. 教学难点:使用实意动词和副词比较级的句式。
He has shorter hair than Sam.
She also sings more loudly than Tara.
三、教学过程
Step 1 — Revision
Review the comparatives altogether and ask some students to summarize the rules of comparatives. (Students Read and speak)
(形容词和副词按照规则分类出现,针对性更强)
Step 2 — Lead in
The teacher asks two students to come to the front of the classroom, and the other students compare them, using the sentences “… is taller than …”, “…has shorter hair than…”. Then, some students volunteer to make sentences. (两名学生作为比较对象,其他学生对他们做比较,教师在学生句型有错时及时纠正并重点讲解该句型。)
Step 3 — Listening
1. The students read the dialogue before listening.
2. The students review the comparatives that they have reviewed at the beginning of the class.
3. Listen to the tape for two times and fill in the blanks.
4. Listen to the tape for the third time and encourage students to repeat the sentences. The teacher asks some students to share their answers while repeating and check the answers. (听前预读对话,分别做有暂停和无暂停听力各一次,听后重复句子。)
Step 4 — Group Work: Find out the differences between Tina and Tara in the dialogue.
1. The students have group work and find out the differences between Tina and Tara. Then the students are asked to write down the differences, using the sentences that contain comparatives.
2. Three students are encouraged to write down their sentences on the blackboard.
3. The teacher and students check if the sentences are right, with the teacher pointing out the mistakes and stressing the key points. Then the students are asked to read the sentences on the blackboard.(学生找出差异并用比较级写句子,所有学生检查句子并纠错,巩固所学句型的运用。)
Step 5 — Writing
1. The students try to cooperate to complete a short paragraph which is to compare their friends and themselves. The teacher move around, and help those who need help.
2. The teacher checks several students’ paragraph on the screen.
