Nowadays, e-books are becoming more and more popular. However, most people, especially young kids, still prefer printed books. Though that is a good habit, it also means cutting down trees. But what if the book could turn back into a tree Now thanks to a Brazilian children's book publisher, that is possible, at least for one book!
The Tree Book Tree programme is really a good idea. The first
book in the programme is Mi Papá Estuvo en la Selva (My Father Was in the Jungle). In it, a boy tells the true story of his father's adventures in a forest. This book and Tree Book Tree's future books want to encourage readers to think about the part they can play in protecting life around them.
The book is completely recyclable. It is the first book that can be planted after it is read. Jacaranda seeds (蓝花楹种子) are carefully put into the pages to help it turn into a tree. After a kid finishes
reading the book (over and over again), he or she waters the cover and puts it in a sunny area inside the house. After the seeds start to grow, the book can be planted in any location. From then on, the book just has to be taken care of like any other plant. Why did they chose jacaranda Because it's a kind of tree that offers a lot of oxygen (氧气) to the environment.

When I was about fifteen, I read Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham. At the time, I was living in a small town in Western Colorado, where my father was a minister (牧师). My elder sister, Alice, had died in a car accident and I was trying to find the answer to that age?old question: “Why do bad things happen to good people ”
I don't remember now how I got my hands on Of Human Bondage, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. I believe it is Maugham's best work. It tells the life story of Philip Carey and his search for meaning in life. After Carey's parents died, he is sent to live with his aunt Louisa and uncle William Carey in a small Village.
I still remember how I was mesmerized (迷住) by it. I often read the book late into the night, thinking about Philip as if he were a close friend. I often hurried home after school to read the book to discover what was happening to him.
About one-third into the story, I took a pen and began underlining passages that spoke to me. Even though the book came out in 1915, ten years before I was born, it describes me and my feelings.
