Han Gan is regarded as a famous painter good at painting horse in Tang Dynasty. When he was young, he supported his family by working in a wine shop. Later, he was sponsored by the great peot Wang Wei to study painting.
In order to enhance painting skills, he often visited the stables and carefully observed the behavior and characteristics of the horse so as to have a thorough understanding horses. The horses' various physical appearance, running posture and dynamic changes are naturally displayed on the paper when they are painted. Therefore, people all praise han gan's horses as running horses, which shows his ambition, interest and talent.
