Analysis on teaching materials It is a reading material from Unit 6 of 7A Oxford English. Students have learnt many kinds of food and know how to talk about food and how to eat healthily in the first period of this unit. This reading material shows us the relationship between food and exercise. By learning the two articles, Students will think about their own lifestyle and change their bad habits to eat and live healthily, so this period is an extension of the first period of this unit. In this lesson, students are going to learn some skills to help with their reading. And students can know how to describe one’s lifestyle which will be helpful when they learn Task of this unit.
Analysis on learners Students have been in junior high for half a term, and they are used to the English classes in junior high which are different from primary school. However, few of them have mastered some skills, such as fast reading and careful reading. In this lesson, they are going to learn about different skills and develop a good reading habit, for example, they can underline the useful information while reading. In the first period of this unit, students have learnt many kinds of food and know how to talk about food. The learnt knowledge in the first period will make it easier for students to learn better in this lesson.
