(Purpose: help students relax and lead in the context which will be used in the next period.)
2. Free talk
Show students photos of some stars in the TV programme and encourage them to talk freely about the colors, features and materials of their clothes. During the free talk, other relevant words about clothes will be talked about.
(Purpose: Enable Ss to get words about clothes ready before writing.)
3、Homework check
(1). Many students can take part in the TV program called ‘I go to school’. Daniel is lucky to join in it. What will he wear for the TV program? Sandy designs some clothes for him. What clothes does she design

(Purpose: arouse students’ interest in writing.)
2. Tips for writing
(Purpose: remind students of what makes good writing.)
Step three: Try
Ss write down their own design according to tips for writing and Sandy’s writing on page 103.
(Purpose: get Ss to try writing by themselves at first.)
Step four: Discussion and appraisal
1、 Peer-editing
Ss exchange the article with their partner and think over how many points their partner can get according to the writing criteria.
(Purpose: get Ss to share each other’s writing, learning from each other and understanding the writing criteria better.)
2、 Share
One of the students comes to the front of the classroom to talk about how many points his/her partner can get according to the writing criteria. Then the whole class discuss whether the writing is good or not.
(Purpose: Enable the whole class to share one writing and appraise it in different ways.)
Step five: Team work
1. The whole class share good words and sentences, conjunctions and transitions found in
their partner’s writing. Meanwhile, the teacher writes them down on the blackboard.
(Purpose: Get other good words and sentences ready for writing improvement.)
2. The teacher shows how to make a simple sentence better with good words, such as adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions and transitions. Then students have a try in pairs.
(Purpose: Students can know how to write more beautifully after trying making a
sentence better with good words by themselves.)
Step six: A second try
1. Making writing better
Ss number the sentences they want to improve and write their better sentences on the right with the relevant number.
(Purpose: Students can find themselves able to use as many good words as possible to make their writing better and become more confident in writing.)
2. Group-editing
Ss discuss their articles in a group of 4 and vote for the best one on the ipad. Then share it in class.
(Purpose: Students can know it’s not difficult to write in English. If they keep trying, they
can write correctly, beautifully and then confidently.)
