当句子中有ago时，一般用一般过去时。ago常用于某个时间段之后，且时间段前面不用介词，意思是“……以前”。如：

“某人花费多长时间做某事”
此句式也有事态的变化：
（1）表示一般将来时：

（2）表示一般过去时：
It took (sb.宾格) some time to do sth.
（3）与情态动词连用：
It may take (sb.宾格) some time to do sth.“花费，度过时间”除了用 “take”还可以用“spend”，
但主语不同.
“take”以 事情 做主语，多用it。
有句型：It takes sb. some time to do sth.
“spend”是 人 做主语。
有句型：sb. spend time / money (in) doing sth. 和
sb. spend time/ money on sth. 如：
