学情教材分析 Textbook Analysis: In the first part of Section B, “favorite singer, musician or band” will be the learning focus. And still, this period will provide the students with speaking and listening chances to practice the usage of present perfect tense. Student Analysis: In Section A, the students have learned some classical books and how to share good stories by using present perfect tense. And they are also familiar about music and things about music.
核心素养目标 Linguistic skill(s): Be able to use the sentence patterns of present perfect tense to describe one’s favorite singer, musician or band. Language knowledge: To master the words, phrases, and sentences for describing one’s favorite singer, musician or band. Emotion and attitude: Be able to learn something from great singers, musicians or bands and to feel the spirit of them. Learning strategy: To know how to use the knowledge have been learned so far to describe something in a whole-round way. Culture awareness: Music has no boarder which can be a motivator of one’s life.
重点 Key words: pop, rock, band, owner. Key phrases: rock and roll, the rest of the day. Key sentences: The Toms must be popular. Listening to the Toms is a good way to wake up. It’s loud and full of energy.
难点 How to make sure that all the students can use the sentence patterns of present perfect tense to describe one’s favorite singer, musician or band.

Ⅰ. Warm-Up Dictation 【6min】 Warming up 【10min】 Read the dictating content to the students and each item read three times. Write down the words, phrases, or sentences carefully and correctly.

T: In Unit 6 and Section A, we’ve learned many stories from famous or classical books. So Which one is your favorite How do you feel when you read the stories of the books. Several students share one’s favorite stories or books. And tell why Compete to show one’s feelings.
Ⅱ. Presentation Lead-in 【5min】 Q: What else can make you relaxed/excited/happy/…? Who is your favorite singer/music/band Write down one’s answers on the prepared paper, and then several students share in front of the whole class.

Practice Listening 1b 【4min】 1c 【5min】 Show the picture of the Toms and ask the students: Do you know who they are Then play the record of 1b twice for the students twice and ask the students to finish the exercises. Then check the answers. Play the record of 1c for the students twice again. S: No! Listen carefully and check the numbers one hears. Listen to the record carefully again, and take notes to complete the sentences.
Ⅳ. Promotion Chart filling 1d 【10min】 Pair work Homework Have the students finish the chart in 1d first. Ask the students to make conversations according the information collected in the chart of 1d.
