(一)The number of candles is the person’s age.
the number of ....的数量,谓语动词用第三人称单数。
a number of ...如干,许多,相当于some或a lot of ,谓语动词用复数。
做一做: 用所给词的适当形式填空。

(三).also, too, either与as well的正确用法。这几个词都可表示“也”,但用法不同。

either用于否定句中,一般位于句末。如:He doesn't like mutton, either. 他也不喜欢羊肉。
as well 通常用于肯定句末中,前面不用逗号。 如:He plays the guitar as well. 他也弹吉他。
