【解读】句子中what they want to do in the future 是作为talked about 的宾语,故称之为___________。宾语从句要注意三要素:引导词,语序和时态。
第一,引导词。宾语从句的引导词常常有以下三种:由陈述句转化而来的宾语从句,引导词为that,that在口语或非正式文体中可省略;由一般疑问句转化而来的宾语从句,引导词为if或whether;由特殊疑问句转化而来的宾语从句,引导词为句子本身的特殊疑问词,即what,when,where等。

第二,语序。宾语从句的语序为_____________,即“主语+谓语+宾语+其他”。也就是说,将疑问句转化成宾语从句时,一定要将疑问句语序转变成陈述句语序。

【提示】当疑问词在宾语从句中做主语时,语序不变。

第三,时态。主句为一般现在时态,则宾语从句根据实际情况用任意的时态;但主句为一般过去时态时,宾语从句则要用过去的相对应的某种时态。

Good learners must have good ways. Discussing in a group really helps me understand what I've learned.
Shy and nervous, my classmate Jeff used to hide himself behind books. Answering questions in public was quite a difficult job for him. Once our math teacher asked us to solve a difficult problem. I encouraged Jeff to discuss his idea with us and we found his way was so creative. Then we advised him to write his answer on the blackboard and explain it to us. Believe it or not, he did it and we saw his great improvement after that.
Discussing in a group not only makes me enjoy the happiness of being a good learner but also deepens the friendship. By discussing, we learn more wisely and better.

no matter常与疑问代词或疑问副词一起构成连词词组引导让步状语从句,意为“不管……,无论……”,在运用时应注意以下几点:
1.注意从句的时态
由no matter what/who/where/when 引导的从句往往用一般现在时或一般过去时。如:No matter who you are, you must obey the rules. 无论你是谁,都应该遵守规则。
2.注意被修饰的名词、形容词以及副词的位置
no matter what/whose/which修饰名词时,该名词必须紧跟其后;no matter how修饰形容词或副词时,该形容词或副词也必须紧跟其后。

3.注意“no matter+疑问词”结构与“疑问词+ever”在用法上的区别
“no matter+疑问词”结构只能引导让步状语从句,这时可以和“疑问词+ever”互换。
