Lao She is one of the greatest Chinese writers in the twentieth century, who is famous for his novels and plays.
He was born in a common family in Beijing in 1899. His mother sent him to a teacher’s school in 1913. Five years later, he became a head teacher of a primary school after finishing school. After that, he left school and went to England. He taught Chinese at a college in London and returned to China five years later. In 1957, he wrote Teahouse which is one of Lao She’s most famous plays.
Chinese people think highly of Lao She and he was named “the People’s Artist”.

Lu Xun is one of the greatest Chinese writers in the twentieth century, who is famous for his novels.
He was born in Shaoxing, Zhe jiang Province where he received a traditional education. In 1902, he went to Japan to learn medicine. Four years later, he dropped out of the school to devote himself entirely to writing.
At the same time, Lu Xun is chiefly known for his stories in the western countries, which have been translated into more than a dozen languages. In brief, in his lifetime Lu Xun managed to maintain his status as an independent writer and established his special fame in the history of China.
