命题情报
过去进行时是中考的重要时态之一,其中when,while和as引导的时间状语从句更是考试的重点。主要出现在单项选择、完形填空、及综合填空题型中。
过去进行时可以和when,while,as引导的过去的时间状语从句
连用构成复合句。

when sb.+was/were+doing sth.+when+sb.+did sth. when=at that time,所以从句谓语动词通常用短暂性动词。

while while+sb.+was/were+doing sth.,sb.+was/were doing/did sth. while=during that time,表示某一时间段内发生的动作,因此,从句谓语动词常用延续性动词。
as while+sb.+was/were+doing sth.,sb.+was/were doing/did sth. as引导时间状语从句时,相当于while,即后面要接延续性动词,一般译为“正当……”,“随着……”。
I was playing computer games when my father got home.
当我爸爸回到家时,我正在玩电脑游戏。
While he was doing his homework, his mum came in.
当他正在写作业的时候,他妈妈进来了。
As I was reading the menu, a man came to our table.

when,while,as引导的时间状语从句中过去进行时的运
用需要注意以下几点:
(1)从句中的动作先于主句中的动作发生,且进行的时间较长时,从句用过去进行时。
When I was cooking, my mobile phone rang.
当我正在做饭的时候,我的手机响了。

(2)主、从句动作开始的时间不存在先后顺序,主从句可同时使用过去进行时,此时从句一般由while来引导。
My mother was cooking while I was doing my homework.
我妈妈正在做饭的时候,我正在写作业。
3. when和while引导的从句在用法上的区别如下:

(1)when引导的时间状语既可以指时间点,也可以指时间段。while引导的时间状语只能指时间段。
I was trying to pick it up when it bit me again.
我正试图抓住它时,它又咬了我一口。
While I was waiting at the bus stop yesterday morning,
I met my friend, Amy.
昨天早上在公交车站等车时,我遇见了我的朋友埃米。
(2)when引导的时间状语从句中,动词可用延续性动词,也可用短暂性动词。while引导的时间状语从句中,动词必须是延续性动词。
(3)when引导的从句的动作和主句的动作可同时发生,也可先后发生。while强调主句动作在从句动作发生的过程中或与从句动作同时发生。

(4)when引导的过去时间状语从句多用一般过去时。while 引导的过去时间状语从句多用过去进行时。
