T: On the Spring Festival, people don’t work, children don’t go to school. We call it holiday.T: Can you see the Spring Festival in the US/UK S: No.T: We only can see it in China. So the Spring Festival is a special holiday in China. We have many special holidays in our country. Today we’ll learn Lesson 22 .Step 3. New Concepts.1. Learn about the Spring Festival Show the picture of the Spring Festival. T: What holiday is it Ss: It’s the Spring Festival. T: Do you know another name for the Spring Festival Ss: …T: We know New Year’s Day is on January 1st, but Chinese New Year’s Day is not on January 1st, it’s usually in January or February.2. Learn about the Dragon Boat Festival. Show the picture of the Dragon Boat Festival. T: What holiday is it Ss: … T: Show the picture of a dragon, ask what it is. Ss: It’s a dragon. T: What holiday is it Ss: … Show the picture of autumn, and ask: what season is it Show the picture of a hand, ask: Do you know the name of the finger Ss: … T: We call it mid-finger. What’s the meaning of mid So we call the festival is the Mid-Autumn Festival. It’s 中秋节。4. Show some pictures of the Spring Festival/the Dragon Boat Festival/the Mid-Autumn Festival. Ask students to tell what holiday it is. ( Show the word cards , and read them. Then put them on the blackboard) 5. Play a game.(Throw and catch)Throw a ball to a student , and ask him or her “what’s your favourite holiday ” 6.
