高考英语读后续写写作指导
一、阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
It's a shop I must have walked past a million times before, but have only noticed until now, and have never thought to enter. It's a little brown brick building with a small window display offering various forgettable items that are of no interest to me. But I have some extra time today and decide to take a quick look.
The interior (里面) of the shop is cool and dark, and it takes a moment for my eyes to ad- just. A strong rose smell hangs thickly in the air, which is nearly enough to turn me away. In spite of this, I continue further into the store, eyes scanning the shelves for anything interesting. Indeed, there are different items, and yet none appeals to me.
“Can I help you ”
I look up to see an elderly woman behind the counter. She looks a little surprised, and I wonder when she last saw a customer enter her shop.
“Just looking casually,” I reply.
I make a full circle of the place and there is indeed nothing here I wish to purchase. I wonder how the old woman manages to stay in business. I head towards the door, but pause when I notice a large old book on a wooden stand.
There is no visible title on the well-worn leather cover, and it is locked with a combination lock (密码锁). Beside the book, there is a paper with numbers on it. The numbers read: 02-11-32.
I try the lock with the combination, but it does not open. I am now even more curious to discover what lies between the book's pages. “What is this book about ” I ask the old woman, who has been staring at me quietly the whole time. “Do you know the combination ”
“I do,” the woman replies, but adds nothing more.
I am annoyed by her response, and I've had enough of this place. I turn to leave and I am almost out the door when I hear the woman say, “Try your birthday.”
I wander back over to the book. She's crazy, I think. With my index finger, I hit the numbers into place so that they now show my birth month, day, and year.

1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
To my astonishment, the lock opens.

参考答案:
To my astonishment, the lock opens. I pull back the heavy cover and glance through the pages. “This can’t be right,” I whisper in shock as I realize the book is a biography about me! I look up to question the woman, but she is gone and the shop suddenly seems different and brighter. The shelves are now filled with all my favorite things. I wander around the shop again. How did I miss this shop before I would buy any of these items in it gladly!
Suddenly, I hear a voice, telling me I'm the shop assistant until I find the next customer. I sit behind the counter, waiting for a customer to come in. However, they all walk past the window as though the place were invisible. The few that do enter seem uninterested in what I have to sell, or complain that the smell in the air is too strong. Until one day, a young woman takes an interest in the book. “It won't open,” she notes. “Try your birthday,” I say.

二、阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
BPWD is a startup company, where my workmates and I work our heads off, seeking solutions to various environmental problems. We are what people consider a group of promising young talents working in a promising industry. We are from different backgrounds but we all fit in well with the high— paced life and enjoy all the convenience that Salt Lake City can offer. We pride ourselves on all the differences we are making to this planet but our best subject for lunch break chat is what we do as volunteers to protect a lake called Lake Purilence.
We first heard about the lake from my workmate, Bluto, who referred to it as his childhood paradise, where he used to fish, swim and cast pebbles (鹅卵石) with his friends. He described the lake area as one of the few places of wildness that had not been ruined by modern tourism. He had left the place for years since his parents sold their farm near the lake and moved to the city, but he still kept dreaming of going back. In his own words, he was “nature starved”. Attracted by Bluto's description, the five of us working in the same office got on our way to it in October, 2019, taking advantage of a federal holiday.
It was a place not only lesser known but also out of the way. We took a flight first and then rented two cars at the airport. We had to travel along backroads in rental cars to finally get there but the scenery was absolutely stunning. No wonder it was loved so dearly by Bluto. All the beautiful trees and the grass were covered with red and orange leaves and the quiet lake is like a mirror reflecting the golden rays of the sun. A short distance away, we could see a few other tourists taking pictures by the lake and some white birds flying up from the water and the patches of reed marshes (芦苇荡). Amazed by the scene, our hearts longed for a closer encounter with the lake.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
参考答案:
As we got closer to the lake, however, we saw something strikingly inharmonious to the beautiful view. At the shore of the lake we could see litters of plastic bags and bottles here and there. Out of professional sensitivity, we could see what all this means to the environment and to the wild life. The disappointment and awkwardness were especially unbearable for Bluto, as if his childhood wonderland was ruined. We felt a strong drive to help our friend restore the wonderland and protect the lake before the situation turned too serious.
Looking at my workmates, I put forward a plan, which met their immediate approval. We decided to work as a voluntary team to do what we can to turn it around. Action began right then and there. We walked around the lake to collect litters and put up no littering signs. What we didn't expect was that the other tourists joined us in our action. We also arranged regular inspections and agreed to take further actions when necessary. So far we have been able to live up to the title we give ourselves: Guards of Lake Purilence.

“Congratulations," said his father. His mother gave him a hug, even though he was wet.
A week later, it was time for another swim meet and Mike decided to eat the same ice cream. He thought that it was his luck ice cream and that it might help him win again.
He took first place again in his race. Mike was feeling pretty good. Since then, Mike has decided to have the same ice cream before every swim meet and has always won. Several months passed and Mike was feeling unbeatable. Although he wouldn't admit it, all the ice cream was adding pounds to his athletic swimmer's build.

He knew what was wrong. But he couldn't admit it to himself and especially to his parents. He did not want to disappoint them.

Mike unwillingly agreed. Every other day, he would go running with his dad. He still went to the swim meets each week but he didn't do well. Seeing that it was really hard for Mike, his father sometimes couldn't help inviting Mike to get some of his luck ice cream. But he refused the sweet treat and continued running with his father.
Finally the big competition of the season came. As he dived into the swimming pool, he kicked his legs and stretched his arms as hard as he could. This race seemed much longer. When he finished the race, he felt really tired and was not sure what to expect. Suddenly he heard thundering cheers from the audience and saw his parents were smiling from ear to ear. His jaws dropped as he looked at the scores. He had beaten his own record, and everyone else's too. Mike realized he had won his race, without the help of his luck ice cream.

“Why she let out my secret why she did that to me ” I vividly remembered that day when I was confused at the knowing looks which everyone gave me. That terrible experience was imprinted (铭刻) on my mind. I couldn’t forgive the person with whom I had shared my secret. She lost all my trust and friendship.
Five years back, Sally was a new addition in our class. I don’t know what but there was something sticky about her that attracted me towards her. She was the most friendly person I knew. We started as classmates but after a few months we were like best friends. We did homework together and dreamed of going to the same university one day. We hung out and went to the movies on weekends. That was a sweet time.
Nevertheless, I couldn’t expect such an enormous betrayal from her. I didn’t know what made me tell Sally about my personal life. I felt much regret to myself. She exaggerated (夸大) the matter, added her own spices to it and made it the hottest topic in school. It was like someone had stabbed a knife in my back. After she revealed my secret, everyone at school started laughing at me and gazing at me wherever I passed. I was like a pond in which someone had thrown a stone and it had been spilled up. It was the most embarrassing time I had gone through. Soon afterwards, I left school and shifted to another one, because I thought no one had the right to laugh at me. Sally called me many times but I didn’t answer. My heart was broken because the person whom I trusted most cheated me.
I made efforts to remove the scar from my heart. I started a new life, leaving all the bad memories behind, because they made me a person who often thought about the past experiences. Five years later, with the life going on, I made new friends and seldom thought about the past.

参考答案:
But one day I met Anna in the market, my former classmate, who told me shocking news. Anna said that after I left school the gossip soon disappeared. Everyone in our class missed me. Because I left without saying goodbye, Sally was sad for a long time. And to my amazement, she told me that Sally was not the one who brought my secret to light. It was Mary who had a big mouth and always wanted to put her nose in other people’s matters. She happened to overhear my conversation with Sally. I was all at sea, feeling that the floor had slipped away beneath my feet. Anxious and regretful, I asked Anna for any contact with Sally.
I immediately called Sally in order to explain the misunderstanding. After getting through, I sincerely apologized to her. She said softly: “Never mind. We are good friends.” I was in tears, guilt and joy. At that moment, I wished it had not happened. I wished time could go back and I could overcome my mistake. From that I got a lesson in life that we should learn to trust our loved ones, because a little mistake can lead us to ruin what we should value. Trust is the foundational principle that holds friendship. Trust is also the easiest thing in the world to lose. We need to be open and trust our friends.

Desiree, a 4-year-old girl, was sobbing quietly over her father, Ken, who had died nine months earlier. She was hugging a photograph of her father with her fingers running around his face. “Daddy”, she said softly, “Why won't you come back ”
Instead of gradually adjusting to her father's death, Desiree refused to accept it “Daddy will be home soon,” she'd tell her mother. “He's at work.” When she played with her toy telephone, she pretended she was chatting with her father “I miss you, Daddy,” she'd say. “When will you come back ” Desiree's situation made her mother worried.
Days later, it was Ken's birthday. “How will I send him a card ” Desiree asked her mother “How about if we tie a litter to a balloon.” her mother said, “and send it up to heaven ” Desiree's eyes immediately lit up.
Her mother took her to a store and Desiree picked out a balloon with HAPPY BIRTHDAY above a drawing of The Little Mermaid (美人鱼). Desire and her father had often watched it.
The child's eyes shone as they were on the way to Ken's grave. Then Desiree dictated (口述) a letter to her Dad. “Daddy, Happy birthday, I love you and miss you,” she rattled off (快速说). “I hope you get this and can write to me on my birthday in January.”

For almost an hour, they watched the shining spot of silver grow smaller and smaller till disappear. “Now Dad's going to write back to me,” Desiree said confidently.
Every day since they'd flew the balloon, Desiree had asked her mother, “Do you think Daddy has my balloon yet ” Several weeks passed, and she stopped asking.

Walter John was a 20-year-old college student from Homewood, Alabama. As a young man in college far away from home, he didn’t have much money. He had to work part-time to cover his living costs.
Recently he gave up his part-time job in the fast-food business and found a new one at a home-moving company called Bellhops. The pay for his new job was higher, and John gained more flexibility with his hours, which allowed him to focus on his studies a bit more. He wanted to do everything he could to secure this new employment opportunity, so he thought he had to try his best to make sure that everything would go well on his first day!
But sometimes, life hits you unexpectedly. A day before John began his new job, his car broke down! With little money to his name, he couldn’t have his car repaired at the garage. None of his friends were able to take him to work. What was worse, the public transportation was not running at his working time. If he took a taxi, it would cost him half his salary.
Therefore, he decided to walk to the company.
In order to get there by six in the morning, he thought that the safest way would be to leave at midnight. John even challenged himself to arrive there one hour earlier. Even though it seemed like such a far walk, John knew he was fit enough to do it. This was challenging, but John knew it was possible.
He grabbed his wallet and his phone and left his apartment. As soon as he stepped out of the door, he realized that walking alone in the dark at midnight can be dangerous. Moreover, he had to walk through a large wood as well as many blocks of the city. Therefore, he went back to take a bat (球棒) and a kitchen knife for safety purposes. In case a wild animal or some bad person attacked him, at least he would have something for protection.

参考答案:
1.Paragraph 1:
Finally John started his long walk. A few hours into the trek, he saw eyes in the distance, so he grabbed his bat before realizing it was just a stray dog. He walked across the street, hoping the dog wouldn’t bother him, and he also picked up a ball and threw it in the opposite direction. It worked. John walked for three hours straight and felt great about it. His legs burned a bit, but another three hours would hurt him. He thought a quick rest could give him more energy, so it was a calculated decision to take a break.
Paragraph 2:
At that time, a car was drawing closer. When the driver, Mark, pulled up to John, he rolled down the window and asked why he was all alone in the morning on the road. John told the Mark what he was doing. Impressed by his story, Mark offered to give him a lift. Thanks to Mark’s help, John managed to make it to the destination at 5:30. With the sun peeking over the horizon, John’s face glowed with gratitude. Feeling energetic, he couldn’t wait to get started.
2.Paragraph 1:
Finally John started his long walk. He walked nonstop and soon he was deep in the forest. Apart from the creepy cry from owls and the rustling of trees, the wood was in a deathly silence. Unconsciously, he quickened up and held onto the bat tightly. Abruptly, a terrible howl, from what sounded like a wolf, broke the silence and startled him. He jumped up and ran as fast as his legs could carry him. He didn’t stop running until he saw a flash of light at a distance, moving quickly towards him.
Paragraph 2:
At that time, a car was drawing closer. At the sight of John, the driver slowed down and stopped. He asked cautiously, “What are you doing here at this time ” Hearing that there were probably wolves in the forest ahead, the man immediately urged John to get in and turned around the car. After John told the man why he was in the wood, the man burst into laughter, “I know your company, young man. I’m the boss. You see, I was just off work when you went to work. Now, would you like to have breakfast together ”
