【Analysis of the lesson】
Lesson 1 of Unit 5 in Book 1 mainly talks about classroom and the things in it. It’s part of students’ school life. In Book 1, students learned Unit 3 “This is my mother.” and Unit 4“This is my head.”. And they learned the sentence pattern “This is…”. Students are expected to describe their school life.

Knowledge goal：
100% of the students can read the following words: classroom, desk, chair, our, that, that’s. 100% of the students can read the sentences: This is my desk. This is your chair. That’s my desk. That’s my chair. 90% of the students can use these words and sentences properly.
Ability goal：
90% of the students can introduce their classroom, desk and chair, using the words, phrases and sentences they learn in this class.
Emotion goal：
Call out students’ love for their classroom.

【Teaching procedures】
Step 1 Warming up
1. Greetings.
2. Free talk:
Hello! What’s your name Nice to meet you.
3. Preparation:
Sing a chant: This is Jenny.
【Purpose: Review the original knowledge and lay a foundation for the new lesson.】
Step2 Presentation
1. Introduce the background information.
Show the picture and lead students to introduce it: Lead the pupils to say: Today we’ll learn Unit 5 classroom, Lesson 1 This is my desk. Talk about it: Why is Danny happy Guess first. Then please watch and choose.
He goes to the new classroom.

2. Li Ming and Jenny go to their new classroom. Jenny says: This is our classroom. Teach the word “our”. Danny says happily: Oh! Our new classroom. Teacher the word “new”.

3. Ask students to watch the cartoon again and try to find:
1) How does Jenny introduce her desk
2) How does Danny introduce Jenny’s chair
3)How does Ling Ming introduce his desk and chair
Lead students to read the new words: desk, chair after checking the answer.
Show some familiar words in pronunciation and have the pupils try to read them.
Have the pupils find the answer with the help of the pictures.
After checking the answer, lead students to learn the sentences “This is your chair. That’s my desk. That’s my chair.” At last, lead students to say all the complete sentences. )
【Purpose: Lead students to know more details about the text, at the same time, lead students to learn the new words and key sentences, writing the key words and sentences on the board.】
Step 3 Practice
1. Ask students to listen and repeat.
2. Ask students to read the text by themselves.
3. Role play. Have pupils to act as Jenny, Danny and Li Ming.
4. Sharp eyes. Ask students to look at the pictures and say the sentences.
