Teaching steps:
Step 1. Free talk
T: Hello, boys and girls.
S: Hello!
T: Class, do you like sports
S: Yes!
T:Class,what sport do you like Would you like to tell us
S: Yes!
T: Now, let’s play a game! You act, we guess!
S1:表演跑步
S: Running
T: Wow, S1, Can you run fast
S1: Yes!
T: Oh, you are good at running. (伸出大拇指表示赞扬,让孩子们理解be good at 的意思是在某方面做得好,擅长某件事。)
S2:表演打篮球
S:playing basketball
T: Hi, S2, Can you do it well (通过do well让孩子们进一步体会be good at 的意思)
S: Yes.
T: Great! You are good at it.
S3: 表演游泳
S:Swimming.
T: Swimming is good for health. I like it.(渗透运动有益健康)
S4: 表演踢足球
S: playing football.
T:Hi, S4, my favourite sport is playing football, too. Because I can make lots of friends by playing football. Would you like to play football with me after class
S: Yes.
T: Oh, I’m glad to hear that.
T: (出示主题情境图)Class, just now we talked about our favourite sports.(圈出sports,直接点题) Jenny with his friends are also talking about sports. Would you like to know more about it Today let’s come to Unit 5 Sports Lesson 1 What club would you like to join
设计意图:五年级的孩子已经有一定的语言基础,free talk比较容易开展。针对小学生勇于表现自己这一特质,我设置了“You act, we guess”活动,大大提高了孩子参与的积极性。依据课文中出现的“Would you like……”句型和“be good at”词组,在孩子们表演完之后,我利用以上两个知识点设计了free talk,课标中要求孩子们能在图片、图像、手势的帮助下,听懂简单的话语或录音材料,因此我在讲解be good at 的用法时采用手势、和已学词组相结合的方式,帮助孩子们深入理解词组的含义。
Step 2. Presentation
(1) 情景导入
T: (接着呈现Jenny、Peter、Guo Yang and Danny 在宣传栏前谈话的图片) Look, Jenny 、Peter、Guo Yang and Danny are in front of the school poster. What’s the poster about
S: Sports…..
T:Clubs.(展示club,由class/mum引入club,强调字母u的发音。)
(2)课文听力第一遍,整体感知课文文本
T: Class, there are lots of sports clubs in Jenney’s school. What sports clubs do they have Would you like to know about it
S: Yes.
T: Ok, let’s turn to page 40. Watch the video carefully then circle the answers.
S: Listen for the first time
T: Have you got the answer
S: Yes.
T: Who’d like to show me the answer
S: Table tennis Club, Football Club and Basketball Club.
T: So clever. You are good at English.
T:: Class, Please read after me. Table tennis Club, Football Club and Basketball Club.(边领读边板书) 展示table tennis, 学习table tennis. Please read after me, table tennis. Please look at the picture carefully, can you guess the Chinese meaning

设计意图:第一次听力主要目的是要帮助孩子从总体上感知课文。新课程标准要求五年级孩子能借助图片读懂简单的故事或小短文,而很多孩子往往忽视了图片的重要作用,针对这一点,在进入第一遍听课文之前,带领孩子们认真观察图片,力求在听力之前,让大多数孩子做到心中有数,增强孩子学习英语的自信心,也为平时的听力考试打好基础,将听力技巧在平时讲课中慢慢巩固,帮助孩子掌握技巧,养成良好的做题习惯。
(3)分图处理文本
处理Peter:
T:Class, there are so many clubs. I like football. So I’d like to join the football club.(出示join,学习发音) Peter, Guo Yang and Danny would like to join the sports clubs,Jenny would like to know what club they want to join, can you help Jenny OK, let’s help her together. Please follow me. What club would you like to join, Peter/Guo Yang/Danny
S:跟读并体会意思

T:讲授be good at,强调da、ti连读,找生示范。Good job. 指着图片说Pete is good at playing basketball.
出示幻灯片,展示姚明擅长打篮球,邓亚萍擅长乒乓球Yao Ming is good at playing basketball. how about Deng Yaping. Who’d like to show me your answer
S:Deng Yaping is good at playing table tennis.
处理Guo Yang:
T:展示Guo Yang. Guo Yang is good at playing table tennis ,too. Who can ask Guo Yang

T: 出示tree教授try,接着教授again。Class, we often can’t do things well. But please remember “ Never give up, just try again.”
设计意图:通过多种方式处理课文234副图片,解决了课文重难点,有助于孩子更全面的了解课文大意。通过多种方式的练习,发展了孩子的各方面能力。在处理最后一幅图的过程中,渗透德育教育,教育孩子,遇见困难不应该退缩,应该勇于面对,再试一次。
(4)Listen and imitate.
模仿跟读过程中强化语音语调。
(5)Read in roles
在分角色朗读过程中,注意渗透“Have a try/Try again”鼓励后进生积极参与课文朗读。
(6) Retell the text according to the blackboard.

设计意图:依据课标要求,五年级的孩子能在教师的帮助下讲述简单的小故事。因此在本环节孩子们可以根据大屏幕展示以及板书内容,系统复述课文。

Step 3. Let’s talk.
(1) Sharp eyes
T: Jenny’s school has many clubs, we have many clubs in our school, too. Do you want to know what are they Watch carefully, tell me our clubs.
S: Answer the questions quickly.

设计意图:本环节通过sharp eyes,提高了学生的学习兴趣,在边展示边问答的过程中,强化了本节课的重点句型。

设计意图:通过本环节的设计,让全体学生参与到活动中去,提升了尖子生的能力,提高了后进生的参与积极性。使学生在真实的语境中练习本节课重点句型,有助于本课重点句型的掌握。
