教材分析 The Speaking & Writing & Study skills section of Unit 1, Encyclopedias, introduces the sentence stress and how to write a story and how to check information in an encyclopaedia. It aims at improve students’ speaking skills and writing skills. In the speaking section, we read some sentences and leaned which words should be stressed. In the writing section, we learned how to write a story. A story includes 3W and 1H. And from the story “A baby dinosaur”, we learned how to write a story and how to enrich a story.
学习 目标与核心素养 Knowledge objective: 1. 认读和理解单词dollar和短语go for a walk。 2. 用一般过去时描述发生在过去的事。 3. 学习句子的重音。 Ability objective: 1. Introduce a famous person with appropriate stress. 2. Describe pictures with the help of keywords. Emotional objective: Talk about something you are interested and share it with your friends. Thinking quality objective: Predict the end of a story and write one.
重点 1. Be able to stress the important words in a sentence. 2. Use simple past to describe things happened in the past.
难点 Learn to write a story.

导入新课 Lead in Sentence stress Watch the video and get to know what sentence stress is. Watch the video and get to know what sentence stress is. Lead in the new class through watching a video about sentence stress. Then lead in the speaking section.
新课讲授 Speaking A Talk time Sentence stress When we speak, we usually stress the important words (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and numbers) in a sentence. We do not usually stress unimportant words, e.g. a, the, he, of, is, and, have and can. Can you find out the words need stress in the following sentences B Speak up What are you interested in Look it up in an ecyclopaedia. In pairs, talk about it. Follow the example. Writing Before writing What is a story Look at the pictures and think about what a story is. How to write a story Learn to write a story. 3W and 1H. A Look at the pictures below and on page 12. Then complete the story. Can you describe the pictures with the information Now complete the story. Let’s predict! What did Sammy do with the money What happened to Dudley later Group work Discuss with your teammates about the end. Write an ending for the story. Then choose one member to present. Learn to write a story. 3W and 1H. Look at the pictures and try to describe each picture with the information. Complete the story with the words. Think about the questions and predict the story. Discuss with your teammates about the end. Write an ending for the story. Finish the exercise. Let Ss master the sentence stress and read sentence correctly. Let the students practice sentences stress. Let students practice talking about what they are interested in. practice looking it up in an encyclopaedia. Let students know what a story is and how to write a story. It includes 3W and 1H. Let students learn how to describe a picture. Prepare for writing a story. Let students learn how to enrich a story.
