1. Introduce the story介绍故事
T: Today we'll listen to a story about greetings.
2. Understand the situation了解情景
Ask the students to look at the pictures and explain to you in Chinese what they think is happening. Prompt the students in Chinese if necessary. 要求学生看图,并用中文解释图中表示的动作,必要时可用中文给学生提示。
3. Listening objective听力训练目标
T: Listen to the story and see if you can answer this question: How is Emma
Steven: Hello, Helen.
Helen: Hi, Steven.
Steven: (1) How are you today
Helen: I’m very (2) well, thank you. (3) And you

4. Play the tape or read the dialogue播放录音或朗读对话
Now play the tape or read the dialogue. The students listen without interruption and try to think of the answer to the question you set them播放录音或朗读对话。学生不停顿地听录音,准备回答教师提的问题。
5. Answer the question回答问题
After the reading, ask the question:朗读之后问:How is Emma
Answer: She is well.

1. Read the dialogue again,pausing after every line to check the students understand.

3. Pattern drill句型练习:
(1)Look at that man. Is he fat Yes, he is. 用以引出单词,并进行单词训练
(2)Is he/she fat or thin 用以引出He/she isn’t…He’s/She’s…

1. How are you today
(1)朋友或熟人之间见面问候对方身体情况的客套话。
(2)以how开头的特殊疑问句的构成:How is/are+主语?
(3)how还可以和其他形容词和副词搭配,来询问某个方面的情况:
①问年龄:how old
②问距离:how far
③问多少:how many;how much
④问长度:how long
⑤问频率:how often
