Poyang Lake is China's largest fresh-water lake. According to the news on China Youth Network on October 9, 2019, there was a large land instead of a big lake. The lake came to its dry season, much earlier than before. When the land came out, it drew many walkers to the area. But fishermen could no longer make a living, and people living nearby faced water shortages.
You are wrong if you think this will not happen again. Two-thirds of China's cities now face water shortages. And about 300 million people living in the countryside drink unhealthy water.
The water shortage in the world looks even sadder. By 2030, about half of the world population could be facing water shortages, said Ban Ki-moon at the Budapest Water Summit in Hungary.
Think about our children and our children's children. We should try to make the world a better place. To deal with the problem, Ban calls on people to use water in a sustainable way. "Farmers should learn to get 'more crop per drop' by using good irrigation technologies（灌溉技术）. I live in a flat with two large beds. I have clean water to cook my food and electricity to charge my phone. I enjoy my comfortable life. However, I often get bored with the routine and want something different. What life would be like without all these conveniences In order to get an answer to that question, I made a special trip last summer.
My family has a little house at the top of a hill. There is no electricity or running water. And there are only two chairs and a wooden bed in the indoor living space. Today, I learned something about Wang Yaping in our English class.
Born in a village in Yan Tai, Shan Dong Province in 1980, Wang Yaping was the first Chinese woman to walk in Space. In fact, it was not very easy for her. She studied hard from an early age. In 2003,she made up her mind to be an astronaut. She kept on trying with a strong will. She spent ten years training hard and finally made her dream come true.
In the class, I was deeply moved by her story. She devoted all her time to achieving her dream. When she met difficulties, she never gave up. She sets a good example for me. To realize my dream, I think I should spare no effort to study and never lose heart.
