Teaching steps:
Step 1 Greetings
Greet the whole class as usual.
Step 2 Revision
Ask the students some questions about the clothes and learn new words.
Step 3 Lead-in and preparation for reading
Show a video “a fashion show” to the students and ask a question ‘ What are they doing ’ They are having a fashion show
Purpose: Arouse the students’ interest of study.
Step 4 Fast reading
1.Watching the fashion show and answer a question: How many students show us different styles of clothes
2.Read the passage as quickly as they can and finish Part B3 .
3.Then Divide the passage into three parts and do some actions about the reading.
Method: Read the text individually, use question—and—answer activity.
Purpose: Improve the students’ reading ability.
Understand the general idea of each paragraph.
Step 5. Listening and acting
1. Listen to the tape then do an exercise(Part B1 Part B2 and Part B4)
2. Play a game.
Purpose: Train the Ss’ listening ability and acting ability.
Step 6. Preparation for details of the reading on the screen.
