Chinese railway facts:
In 1949, there were more than 20,000kilometres of railway lines in China, but only about 10,000 were operable, mostly in the east and northeast of the country. By 2010, there were more than 90,000 kilometers of railway, and they carried about 25 percent of the world’s total railway capacity. The Beijing –Kowloon line is the longest in China, at 2,372 kilometers long.
Transportation in Tokyo
In Tokyo, there are too many cars. Tokyo drivers often spend a long time in the busy street, just like drivers in London, Paris and New York.
During the day, most people go to work by train. Six million train tickets are sold every year in Tokyo. Trains arrive every two or three
minutes , but they are always crowded, they always leave and arrive on time. You may see somebody reading a newspaper on the train in some countries. But on Tokyo trains, everyone seems to be sleepy.
