Lesson 28
Ⅰ. Analysis of the teaching material
The central topic of this unit is about the clothes and lesson 28 is about how to express yourself and communicate with others when you go shopping. The content of this unit is close to life and practical. Therefore, the students will be interested in it. However, it’s still a little hard for some lower students, so teacher should pay attention to the difficulty degrees when designing the tasks so as to fit different students.
II. Teaching aims:
At the end of the class, the students will:
1. can listen, speak and read the new words: shirt, shorts and jeans;
can write the first two words.
2. can master the ability of fast response and cooperation.
3. can cherish the happiness of their life and realize the importance
of study hard. Besides, try their best to help the poor children.
III. Main and difficult points:
1. Students can learn to listen, speak, read and write the new words: shirt, shorts and jeans.
2. Students can master the main sentence: —Can we look at the blue shorts, please?—Here you are. Use the new words and main sentence to make a new dialogue and use it in real life.
IV. Teaching aids: PPT, words cards and stickers.
V. Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Warming-up
Let’s chant: It’s fine today.
( to raise students’ interest of learning.)
Step 2: Presentation
(1) Divide the whole class into three groups by talking about the weather: “How’s the weather today ” “It’s sunny/rainy/snowy.” and use sunny, rainy and snowy as their group names.
( to review the former knowledge and set the foundation for later activities: choose clothes according to the weather)
(2) Create a context of going shopping and set a task of buying clothes as much as you can. Students should perform well to get money stickers which can be used to buy clothes
( the key line of this lesson)
(3) Play the game of Lianliankan
( to review the words of clothes and learn the three new words )
a. Use your fingers to spell the new words
b. Write each new words twice on your exercise books.
c. Read:E.g. Shorts, shorts, shorts;
Shorts — green shorts — look at the green shorts
( to deal with words and lay the foundation for the following study of main sentences )
(4) Just talk: a. Two questions before reading:
Who is going shopping with Peter
Which clothes does Peter like
b. Read after the CD and try to imitate it.
c. Work in pairs and play in role
(5) Let’s go shopping: salesman and customer

C. Practice the main sentence in pairs
Step 3: Practice
(1) Let’s play: create a context and ask students to buy real clothes by using the main sentences.
(2) Welcome to my shop: ask students to count their money and use their money to buy clothes for their group. The group who has the most clothes is the winner.
Step 4: Moral education: show some pictures of poor children and lead students to cherish the happiness of their life, realize the importance of study well and try their best to help the poor children. T
Homework:
1. Read and recite the text of Lesson 28.
2. Write the new words five times.
3. Make a new dialogue with your partner and write it down.
