1.T:Your English-speaking pen pal wants to know about your favorite Chinese festival. Make some notes about the festival and fill in the chart in 3a.
The students complete the chart in 3a individually and talk about their notes in pairs. Then ask some pairs to present their ideas to the class.

Then ask the students to read the short passage, and discuss any problems they have.

3.Let the students make sentences about a festival they like using the words + that/whether/if.
Then check the answers in pairs.
