一、教学目标

1) 能掌握以下单词:restroom, stamp, beside, postcard, pardon, bathroom, rush
能掌握以下句型:
① Excuse me, could you please tell me how to get to the bookstore  
② Do you know when the bookstore closes today  
③ Excuse me, do you know where I can get some postcards  
④ The supermarket is between the flower store and the bookstore.  
2) 能了解以下语法:
能用宾语从句礼貌地寻求帮助。
3)能用正确的方法指路。
2. 情感态度价值观目标:
中国自古以来就是文明礼仪之邦,讲文明、懂礼貌是我们中华民族的传统美德。教育学生要尊重他人,对人有礼貌,热爱生活,弘扬和传承中国文化礼仪的传统美德。
二、教学重难点
1. 教学重点:
1)掌握本课时的单词及短语。
2) 学会运用宾语从句有礼貌地向他人询问信息。
3)beside 与 besides 的区别;动词 rush 的用法。

学会运用宾语从句有礼貌地向他人询问信息。
三、教学过程
【课堂导入】
Step 1、学生们根据短语图片提示与教师进行单词学习:
What is the English name of this place What do people usually do there
And so on。。。
【课堂活动】
Step 2
1. Let Ss match each thing with a place in the picture in 1a as much as possible. Have a look at who will finish them most quickly and correctly.
2. Correct the answer to 1a.
Step 3. Listening
1.Listen and complete the conversations in the picture in 1b. Then check the answers with the whole class.
2. Listen again and fill in the blanks.(熟悉录音材料)
Step 4. Pair work
Make conversations using the information in 1a. Then talk about your own city. For example:
A: Excuse me, could you please tell me how to get to the bookstore
B: Sure, just go along Main Street until you pass Center Street. The bookstore is on your right, beside the bank.
A: Thanks. Do you know when the bookstore closes today
B: It closes at 7:00 p.m. today.
A: Thank you!
B: You’re welcome.
Step 5. Listening
Work on 2a:
1. Read the sentences in 2a. Tell Ss to remember the information.
2. Listen and number the directions in the order that you hear them.

3. Check the answers in 2a.
Step 6 Work on 2b:
1. Listen again. Show how the boy walks to the supermarket. Draw a line in the picture in 2a. Then get one student draw the line on the blackboard.
2. T choose the best pictures to show Ss.
3. Read the tapescripts.
Step 7 Pair work
Make conversations about the other places in the picture in 2a.
A: Excuse me. Can you tell me where I can buy some stamps
B: Yes, there’s a post office in this shopping center.
A: Do you know how to go there
B: Yes. Go to the third floor and turn right. Then go past the bank. The post office is between museum and library. You should be able to get stamps.
A: OK, great. Oh, and one more thing. Do you know …
B: I’m not sure, but you …
A: OK, thanks a lot.
B: You’re welcome.
Step 8. Role-play
1. Let Ss read the “Role-play the conversation” and find out difficulties.
2. Explain some new words and main points in the conversation.
3. Read the dialogue, then answer the questions.
4. Watch the video then role-play the conversation.
