Section A 1a-2d教案
【教学目标】
语言目标1) 能掌握以下单词: humorous, silent, helpful, from time to time, score
2)能掌握以下句型:
①—Did Mario use to be short
—Yes, he did.
②—What’s he like now
—He’s tall now.
认知目标:学生能运用 used to 结构,谈论自己或他人怎样与过去不同,能准确地描述自己或他人的外貌、性格、兴趣等方面的变化,灵活运用 used to 结构处理和传递信息。
情感目标:培养学生积极健康的心态,学会谈论事情的发展和变化,明白事物是不断发展、变化的道理。
【重点与难点】
①重点:
1) 掌握本课时中出现的生词humorous, silent, helpful, from time to time, score
2) 学会用used to描述自己或他人的变化。
②难点:利用“used to”句型来描述人的外貌、性格、爱好等方面的变化。
【教学过程】
【课堂导入】
Step 1 Warming up
1、Ask the students to look at the pictures and describe people’s appearance .
What does he/she look like ( tall, short, thin, heavy, fat, medium, height, good-looking, straight, hair ,curly blonde hair, a medium build, glasses, sunglasses, sports shoes)
2、Ask the students to look at the pictures and describe people’s personality.
What is he/she like (outgoing, easygoing, serious, funny, moody, friendly, unfriendly, shy, generous, smart)
要求学生注意:be like 与 look like : 两者意思接近,都是询问某人怎么样,但 be like 侧重于问某人的性格品质等。而look like侧重于询问人的外貌特征。
【课堂活动】
Step 2 Words presentation
Ask the students to Look at the chart in 1a, then discuss with your group mates. Try to fill in the chart with words to describe people.
Appearance Personality
tallstraight hair… outgoingfunny…
Let some Ss say their answers. Let other Ss add more.
Lean the new words: humorous, silent, helpful, from time to time, score
Then the teacher shows some photos of two students taken one year ago and says to the students.
He/ She used to be...,but now he/she is...
He/ She used to have straight hair, but now he/she has...
Step 3 Ask the students to work in pairs like this :
Did you use to be …
Did you use to have …
Did you use to wear …
Step 4 Make a dialogue. You haven’t seen your classmates for several years. Now you met in the street and talked to each other.
Step 5 Listening (1b, 2a and 2b.)
(1) . Listen to the tape of Section A, 1b T: Bob hasn’t seen some of his friends for four years. Now he’s seeing his friends. What did his friends use to look like Listen and fill in the blanks. Then check the answer .
1. Mario used to be _________. He used to wear __________.
2. Amy used to be _________. She used to have ________ hair.
3. Tina used to have ________ and _________ hair .

Listen again and answer the questions.(强化听力练习)
1. Whom is Bob come here with
2. Who is taller now, Bob or Amy
3. Is Tina’s hair curly now
(2). Listen to the tape of Section A, 2a : Ask students: What are they doing Say: You will hear a boy and a girl talking to each other at a party, some people surely changed a lot. Listen and check the words you hear . Play the recording again to check the answers.
(3). Listen to the tape of Section A, 2b : Ask students to listen the conversation again and fill in the blank with the words you hear. Play the recording again to check the answers.
Step 6 Pair work (2c)
1. Ss make conversations about Paula using the information in 2a.
2. Let some pairs act out their conversations before the class.
e.g. A: Paula used to play the piano.
B:And I know . She still plays the piano from time to time .
Step 7. Role-play (2d)
1. Read the conversation and answer the questions.
1) What are they doing 2) Who are they talking about 3) Has Billy changed
2. Ask the students to read the conversation again and complete the chart.
What was Billy like in the past What is Billy like now
