Study skills (Vowels Revision) 教案
一、教材分析和设计理念:
本节课是本册Unit2的Study skills之后的音标复习课,是本册教材的重要内容。通过本节课的学习,让学生复习Unit1和Unit2所学习的元音字母a, e, i, o, u在重读的开音节和闭音节的发音;能用音标拼读单词。培养学生运用音标的拼读来学习英语的能力,最后形成正确的语音、语调。同时让学生在大胆开口说英语的过程中获得成功感,进而提升自主学习的能力。
二、学情分析:
七年级的学生好奇心强,对英语学习有着较大的兴趣,喜欢表达自己的观点,也具备初步的自主、合作和探究能力。通过前面Unit1和上一节课Unit2的Study skills的学习,学生基本对元音字母a, e, i, o, u在重读的开音节和闭音节的发音有所认识。
三、教学目标:
(一)知识目标:
1.复习元音字母a, e, i, o, u在重读的开音节和闭音节的发音。
2.学会用音标拼读单词。
(二)能力目标
1. 学生能积极参加小组活动,养成动脑、动口和动手的好习惯,初步形成自主学习的意识。
2. 学生能在完成任务活动的过程中,培养分析总结规律的能力。
(三)情感态度与价值观:
1. 学生能进一步提高对英语的学习热情和学习兴趣。
2. 能积极主动参与课堂活动,大胆开口,主动模仿。
四、教学重难点:
1.区别开音节和闭音节。
2.如何使用音标拼读单词。
五、教学方法与教学手段:
教学方法采用引趣法、归纳探究法、任务活动教学法;教学手段利用多媒体资源。
六、教学过程:
Step 1. Greeting & presentation
1. Students enjoy a song and answer a question.
T: What do they make
S: They make a cake.
Teacher guides the students: The letter “a” sounds /e /.
2. Show some lyrics of the song. Ask the students to look at the letter “a” and say the sounds.
3. Guide students to say the different sounds of letter “a” in open syllable and closed syllable.
Step 2. Review open syllable and closed syllable.
Let students review the rules of open syllable and closed syllable.
Step 3. Task 1. Are they the same or different
Show some words. Ask students to read and foucus on the letter “pare the sounds and say they are the same or different.
Step 4. Review the different sounds of letter “e”.
1. Guide students to say the different sounds of letter “e” in open syllable and closed syllable.
2. Task 2. Ask students to write down the words according to the phonetic symbol.
Step 5. Review the different sounds of letter “i”.
1. Guide students to say the different sounds of letter “i” in open syllable and closed syllable.
2. Task 3. Ask students to divide the words into two groups.
Step 6. Review the different sounds of letter “o”.
1. Guide students to say the different sounds of letter “o” in open syllable and closed syllable.
2. Task 4. Show some words, ask students to read and write down the phonetic symbol of letter “o”.
Step 7. Review the different sounds of letter “u”.
1. Guide students to say the different sounds of letter “u” in open syllable and closed syllable.
2. Task 5. Let students match the words with the phonetic symbol.
Step 8. Task 6. A flash game.
Flash some phonetic symbols, ask students to read quickly.
Step 9. Task 7. Read and find.
Ask students to read the words and find out the different sounds of vowels.
Step 10. Task 8. Read and enjoy.
Let students work in groups, read the sentences to their partners. Then read them group by group.
1. The little pot is so hot.
2. Good, better, best. Never let it rest.
3. Cat, cat, cat! Catch that rat!
4. The students have lunch under the tree.
5. His little sister likes the nice picture.
Step 11. A chant.
Show a chant. Read together.
Step 12. Summary.
Students say what they have learnt this class.
Step 13. Homework.
1. Remember the sounds of letter a, e, i, o and u in open syllable and closed syllable.
2. Think and find out different sounds of letter a, e, i, o and u.

八、教学反思。
本节课的内容设计充实,总体来说还是安排得比较合理的,符合新课标的大纲要求和任务型教学设计。设计的各种活动任务极大地吸引了学生的学习兴趣,使学生在不知不觉中复习元音字母a, e, i, o, u在重读的开音节和闭音节的发音,并学会用音标拼读单词。总体来说达到了当初设计任务的目的。但还有一些细节的地方需要注意。学生刚接触音标不久,所以还有些学生会记不住音标的写法和读音,会觉得一些任务活动难度比较大,在规定的时间内比较难完成(例如Task 8读句子)。再多给一点时间让学生在小组内互相朗读会更好。
