Step 1 Revision &Lead in
Ask questions:1.Are you allowed to buy the style of clothes you want at home
No, I can only wear what my parents bought.
2. How do you decide about dinner in your family
It's usually about choosing what I want to eat.

What do you want to be when you grow up
Step 2 Discussion (2a)
1.Play a game to learn the structure: Are you allowed to make you own decision at home
One of the boys make an action and one of the girls ask a question using the new structure above. If the girls question is correct, the girls team gets a mark. Then change the role.
2.Finish 2a.
Step 3 Reading (2b)
1.Look at the title of the passage. Ask students to answer yes or no individually.
2.Make groups of four. See how many of them choose yes and how many of them choose no. Finish 2b.
3.Read the passage individually and see if students would like to change their answers above.
4.Then ask the students to read the article again, find some key words and sentences. Then discuss the language points in pairs or in groups firstly. After doing,finish some following tasks.
Task 1 Read and fill in the blanks.(PPT)
Task 2 Read the passage and circle T or F.(PPT)
Step 4 Answer the questions (2c)
1.Point to the four questions in 2c. Elicit the first answer from the class.
2.Ask students to read the article again and answer the questions individually.
3.As students work, move around the classroom answering any questions they may have. When students have finished, ask the questions orally and ask students to answer.
4.Check the answers.
Step 5 Exercise (2d)
1.Make students read the sentences in 2d and make sentences with the words in bold. Make sure the students understand the meanings of the words totally.
2.Ask students to read the passage and find the words in bold.
3.Check the answer together.
Step 6 Pair Work (2e)
1.A debate between boys and girls with the topic: Should teenagers be allowed to have their own dream
2.Get students to complete the activity of 2e in pairs. As the pairs work together, walk around the classroom offering support as needed.
Step 7 Language points
1. get in the way of为固定短语,后接名词、代词或动词-ing。可用be in one’s way或be in the way of...替换。
Playing computer games can get in the way of your study.
Don’t stand at the door. You’re in my way.
2. be serious about为固定短语,后接名词、代词或动词-ing 形式。其同义短语为take … seriously。
You must be serious about your P. E. training.
= You must take your P. E. training seriously.
3. have nothing against ( doing) sth. 不反对
I have nothing against homework, but I don’t want to do so much homework.
against 作介词,在此处意为“反对”,其反义词是for。 be against (doing) sth.反对(做)某事。
We are against cutting down too many trees.
4. enter作动词,在此处意为“考上(大学或学校)”。此外,enter 还意为“进来;进去”,相当go/ come into。
I believe I will enter a good high school this year if I try hard.
(1)enter作动词还有“报名参加”的意思。
Linda will enter a writing competition.
(2)enter的名词形式为entrance,意为“入口”。
Let’s meet at the entrance of the cinema.
5.(1)此处support 作及物动词,意为“支持”。support sb. /sth. (in... )意为“(在......方面)支持某人/某事”。
Whatever you do, I will support you forever.
(2)support还可作不可数名词,意为“支持”。
We’re very thankful for your support.
support作动词,还可意为“养活,赡养;资助,赞助”。
Several major companies are supporting the project.
