Step 1 Revision &Lead in
1. Rules are everywhere!
Write "be allowed to" and "be not allowed to" on the blackboard. Divide the class into groups.
Each group is asked to write down as many things as they can think of about what teenagers are or aren't allowed to do. You can use different kinds of places to describe the rules.
2.Invite five students to read their school rules. Then the whole class make school rules together.

Step 2 Discussion (1a)
1.Point to the picture. Ask students to describe what is happening in the picture. Help students describe it: The boy is late for class.
Ask a student to read the four questions in the box to the class.
2.Read the instructions and remind students of the exact meanings of the adverbs of frequency.
3.Ask students to write A after things they always do, U after things they usually do, S after things they sometimes do and N for things they never do.
Step 3 Pair Work (1b)
1.Point out the sample conversation. Ask a pair of students to act it out in the class. As the pairs work together, walk around the classroom offering help if necessary.
2.Ask several pairs to share their conversations with the class.
Step 4 Listening (1c)
1.Play the recording for the first time. Students only listen.
2.Play the recording a second time. Students listen and circle the things that they hear.
3.Check the answers.
Step 5 Listening (1d)
1.Point to both the numbered and the lettered lists of item in the box.
2.Point out the sample answer. Read the sentence "Peter is going to fail a math test".
3.Play the recording again. Students match the sentence parts as they hear on the tape.
4.Check the answers.
Step 6 Role play(1e)
1.Call students' attention to the statements in the box. Introduce them to the class.
2.Ask three students to read the sample conversation to the class, completing the sentences.
3.Divide the class into groups of three. Students discuss the statements in their group.
4.As the groups work together, walk around the classroom offering help as needed. Ask some groups to act out a few lines of their conversations to the class.
Step 7 Language points
1.strict
strict为形容词,意为“严格的”,常用短语:
be strict with sb.对某人要求严格
be strict with sb.in sth.在某方面对某人严格
be strict in doing sth.严于做某事
2.I sometimes get to class late.我有时候上课迟到。
sometimes“有时候”,表示频率,英语中表示频率的还有often,always,never等等。
Sometimes we have a class meeting on Sunday.有时候我们在星期天开班会。
