Grammar教案
I. Teaching aims and learning objectives
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. know what the present continuous tense is;
2. learn when and how to use the present continuous tense;
3. understand the rules of forming v-ing;
4. talk about the things that are happening at the moment.
II. Teaching contents
1. New words and expressions: lie, write to, wait for, look for
2. New structures: I am eating. You/We/They are eating.
He/She/It is eating.
I am not eating. You/We/They are not eating.
He/She/It is not eating.
Am I eating Yes, I am.No, I am not/I’m not.
Are you/we/they eating Yes, we/you/they are.
No, we/you/they are not/aren’t.
Is he/she/it eating Yes, he/she/it is.
No, he/she/it is not/isn’t.
III. Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty
1. Learn to know the uses of the present continuous tense;
2. Sum up the rules of forming v-ing;
3. Talk about the actions happening at the moment by using the
present continuous tense.
IV. Teaching procedures
Step 1 Lead-in
1. T: Today we’ll learn Grammar of Unit 8—the present continuous
tense. First let’s look at some pictures.
2. Show students six pictures about the sports meeting we have had
on Wednesday,October 30.
T: Do you remember the sports meeting on Wednesday Look at
the pictures, tell us what ...is\are doing now.
(1) They are having a sports meeting now.
(2) Listen, he is speaking now.
(3) They are passing the ball at this moment.
(4) Look, they are dancing.
(5)They are lying on the playground at present.
(6)They are running on the playground.
【设计意图:运动会才结束,学生通过观看运动会的图片并回答他们正在做
什么,既激发了学生的兴趣,又能让他们迅速进入学习状态。这一环节也为
下面学习现在进行式的概念和用法做好了准备。】
Step 2 Presentation
Present continuous tense
1. Ask students to look at the seven sentences and try to find out the rules.
(1) T: Now please look at the seven sentences. Do you know their
Chinese meanings (Students hand up and translate the sentences.)
T:Good! Can you tell me what tense these sentences are (students: 现
在进行时)
What is present continuous tense (students:某人正在干某事)
(2) T: Good! And do you know when to use this tense (let students look
at the red words and discuss)
T:When we see these time expressions, we use this tense.(now, at
present, at the moment, look, listen, It’s 4 o’clock, Where is sb.), let them
read the time expressions together twice.
(3) T: Now, look at the blue words. Can you tell me the structure of the
tense (students: be + v-ing), students read together.
(4)T:Can you use the structure to make sentences
Show students some other pictures of the sports meeting, let them make
sentences according to the pictures.
【设计意图:通过6句现在进行时的句子,让学生总结出现在进行时的用法、
时间状语和基本结构。并让学生看另外四幅图用be+ving结构造句,既起到
巩固训练作用,又可以让学生较快进入到下一环节的学习中。】
2.Positive sentences.
Let students read the five sentences together, the find out the structure of
positive sentences.
(S+be+v.ing), let students read together twice.
3.Rules of forming the “-ing” form of a verb.
(1)T: Do you know how to change do to doing Now look at the sentences
and discuss in pairs .
(students answer,teacher shows the rules in PPT)
a.We can add “-ing” to most verbs.
b.Verbs ending in a silent “e” , we drop the “e” and add “-ing”.
c.Verbs ending in “ie”, we usually change “ie” to “y”, and then add “-ing”.
d.Some verbs ending in a consonant + a vowel + a consonant, we must
double the last consonant and then add “-ing”.
(2) Have a conclusion. Let students look at the table and say together.
(3) Finish some exercises in PPT then books page 97.
【设计意图:先让学生看例句讨论总结现在分词的变法,再利用图表形式总
结,配以相关练习,让学生直观理解动词现在分词的构成规则并印象深刻。】
3. Negative sentences & questions.
(1) Show students some other pictures of the sports meeting,
dialogues with students using the structures of negative sentences &
questions.
(2) Show the negative sentences to students, let them work out the
structure.(S+be+not+v.ing),Finish some exercises.
(3) Show the questions to students, let them work out the
structure.(Be+S+v.ing... ),Finish some exercises.
(4) Finish Part B on page 98, check the answers together.
【设计意图:通过运动会的图片带着学生训练并总结现在进行时的否定句和
一般疑问句的结构,再配以相关的口头和笔头练习,通过现在进行时句式的
转换及回答,让学生明确基本结构,并掌握其相互间转换的技巧和方法,帮
助学生灵活运用现在进行时。】
Step 3 Play a game
T: After learning the present continuous tense, let’s play a guessing game.
You may begin your question like this: “Is he/she/it doing … ” or “Are they
doing … ”
(He is drawing a picture. /He is playing football. /They are watching TV. /
She is walking./She is reading.)
【设计意图:让学生通过完成a guessing game的操练,复习并学会正确运
用现在进行时。】
Step 4 Practice
T: Now please look at the photo. Peter is talking about his classmates.
Would you like to make a conversation talking about their activities
(Ask them to use positive sentences、negative sentences and
questions,at least 4 sentences)Ask some students to share their ideas.
【设计意图:让学生通过谈论自己的活动,既发挥了语言的语用功能,又提
高了学生的的合作学习能力。】
Step 5 Summary
Let students look at the blackboard and read the important language
points together, then finish the exercise on the paper. Check the answers.
【设计意图:让学生通过朗读和练习,巩固复习现在进行时的内容,提
高了学生实际运用能力。】
