Integrated skills
I. Teaching aims and learning objectives
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. identify specific details in a conversation;
2. learn about what to wear in different occasions by listening;
3. learn to talk about different materials of things.
II. Teaching contents
1. New words and phrases: fit, glove, leather, soft, smooth, lovely, hat
have to, go for sth, fit for, think of
2. New structures: Mum looks great in white.

What do you think of my red gloves
III. Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty
1. Talk about what to wear;
2. Talk about different materials of things;
3. Learn the uses of “be made of” and “be made from”.
IV. Teaching procedures
Step 1 Presentation
1. T: Every morning, after we get up, maybe we all think about this question,“ What can I wear today ”What about this man
2.T:What about you What are you wearing today
What clothes do you usually wear at school/ home
Show some pictures and learn some new words.

Step 2 Listening
1. T: Look at the pictures. Let's shout the name of clothes.
2. T: Sandy plans to go to a park and her mum is going to a dinner party. What are they going to wear Please listen to their conversation. Write S for Sandy and M for Sandy’s mum in the correct boxes.
Ask students to finish Part A1 on page 99. Check the answers.
3. T: Listen to their conversation again. Fill in the table below.
Ask students to finish Part A2 on page 99. Check the answers.

Step 3 Writing
T: Sandy is writing about the conversation with her mum in her diary. Complete her diary entry using the information in Parts A1 and A2 on page 99. Check the answers in pairs. Then read the passage together.

Step 4 Discussion
1. T: Do you know what to wear in the following situations Can you tell the reasons
2. Look at these photos. The things are made of different materials.
The hat is made of wool and it feels warm and comfortable.
The gloves are made of leather and they are smooth.
The scarf is made of silk and it feels soft.
The T-shirt is made of cotton and it feels light and cool.
The sweater is made of cashmere and it feels soft and warm.
The chopsticks are made of bamboo.
The bag is made of plastic.
The door is made of wood.
The paper is made from wood.
The wine is made from grapes.

2. Play a game.
T: Now let’s play a game. I show you some things and ask, “What is it/are they made of ” You touch them and answer: “It is/ they are made of ….”

1. Ask students to have a competition by doing some exercises and consolidate some new language points.
