使用这个结构,首先,看有几个句子,这里是一个句子(一个句号,没有句间连词) ,第二,找出该句谓语动词,为 have enjoyed, 所以grow up就不能再是谓语动词形式,应当采用非谓语动词形式,最后,看句子主语与grow up的关系为主动且它作原因状语,则采用现在分词结构。
ever since 自从……;从那以后,一直……
可以单独使用,也可以后接从句。它引导的从句若用一般过去时,主句则常用现在完成时。
ever放在since之前是用来表达说话人强调主句的动作或状态持续时间很长。
eg I have known him ever since he was a
child.

dare modal v. (情态动词)
dare not 不敢
dare作情态动词主要用于否定句(dare not)和疑问句(Dare I / you/ he… ),后面跟动词原形。

此句中的情态动词dare (Dad dare not try…)也可以改为实义动词的用法:
