Period 1 (Section A 1a-2d)
设计说明
通过在课件中展示十二个月份的图片并学唱月份歌,使学生熟悉月份单词、正确使用when引导的特殊疑问句询问日期。学习序数词的构成方法,指导学生正确表达自己及他人的生日和年龄。通过分组归类法,探寻记忆规律,简化学习过程,提高学习效率。
教学目标
1. 知识目标:
(1)掌握单词:when,month,January,February,March,April,May,June,July,August,September,October,November,December。
(2)掌握句型:—When is your birthday
—My birthday is on May 2nd.
—When is Alice’s birthday
—Her birthday is on September 5th.
2. 能力目标:
(1)能够正确使用when引导的特殊疑问句询问日期;掌握序数词的构成方法。
(2)能够正确使用名词所有格(‘s所有格)。
3. 情感目标:
通过谈论自己、同学及家人的生日,增进同学之间的友情,增进和家人之间的亲情,学会为他人着想。
重点难点
1. 重点:
(1)熟练掌握表示十二个月份的单词。
(2)掌握序数词的构成方法。
(3)正确运用句型:—When is your mother’s/father’s/...birthday
—Her/His birthday is.../It’s...

(1)询问、表达他人、自己及家人的生日日期。
(2)掌握序数词的构成方法和日期的表达方式。
教学准备
教具:制作能反映一年十二个月份的大挂历或幻灯片;设计课后巩固练习的幻灯片;录音机、录音带或MP3。
教学过程
Step 1 Warming up
Play the English song “Happy Birthday to you”. Let the students sing together.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Have a free talk.
T:Hello,boys and girls!My birthday is in February. It’s on February 5th. (Point at the month and the date on the calendar,repeat it and write it on the blackboard. )
in February on February 5th.
Then ask:
“When is your birthday ”
:My birthday is in May. It’s on May 2nd.
2. Encourage as many students as possible to say the months by themselves. Correct their pronunciations,and then listen and repeat.
3. Let’s have a reading competition to see which group can read the twelve months correctly and quickly!
(Let each group prepare it for several minutes,and then start the competition. At last,award the groups which do better. )
4. Translate the words about months into English. And then read them in groups.

Step 3 Listening and repeating
1. Let students listen and number the conversations in 1b. See if the students can catch the listening well. If they can’t understand well,listen again. Then check the answers.

2. Help students learn to say “When is your birthday ”“My birthday is on...”.
3. Practice the conversations in 1b in pairs. Then make new conversations.
4. Translate the sentences:
—When is your birthday 你的生日是什么时候?
—My birthday is on June 3rd. 我的生日是在6月3日。
Step 4 Task
Use PPT to help students to find out how to express the date. Ask students to work in pairs and find out the way to express the date.

T:Listen and repeat the numbers in 2a.

Step 5 Listening and practice
1. Listen and circle the numbers you hear in 2a.

2. Listen again. Match the names,months and dates.
Answers:Alice—September 5th
Frank—July 4th
Eric—January 17th
Jane—August 22nd
3. Talk about the children’s birthdays according to the information in 2c. Do it like that in 2d.
4. Make new conversations after the model.

5. Work in groups.
(1)询问日期用when引导的特殊疑问句。
—When is your birthday
—It’s on January 5th.
(2)表示顺序、次序的词叫序数词。日期的表达一般用:表示月份的单词+具体的日子(序数词)+年份。
(3)表示在具体的某一天要用介词on。
My birthday is on June 3rd.
(4)一般情况下,在名词词尾加’s构成名词所有格。表示人与事物的所有关系,意为“某人的”。

答案与解析:
Ⅰ. 1. B 日期的表达要使用序数词,故用twelfth,应选B。
2. B 句意为“九月在八月之后,但在十月之前”,选B。
3. A 以Is开头的一般疑问句,肯定答语中也应用is;your birthday对应的代词是it,且肯定答语中主语和系动词通常不能缩写。
4. C 一年的第八个月份是八月。
5. B who“谁”;when“什么时候”;what“什么”;where“在哪里”。由答语“在7月7日”可推知问句询问的是杰克的生日是在什么时候,故选B。
6. A 在具体的几月几日前要用介词on,故选A。
