设计说明
由复习上节课的交际话题展开,进行归纳总结,自编对话,分角色表演,提高语言交际能力,使学生在一定程度上形成自主学习、有效交际和用英语思维的能力,增进同学间的了解和友情,学会在交流中关注他人的情感。
教学目标
1. 知识目标:
(1)掌握单词:happy,old,party,first,second,third,fifth,eighth,ninth,twelfth,twentieth。
(2)掌握句型:—How old are you —I’m thirteen.
—Is his birthday in July —Yes,it is.
Happy birthday!
2. 能力目标:
(1)会用When is your birthday?和How old are you 进行交际。
(2)能够掌握序数词的构成方法。
3. 情感目标:
通过与他人合作完成任务,分角色表演对话,让学生在交流中学习如何关爱他人。
重点难点
1. 重点:
(1)掌握序数词的构成方法和日期的表达方式。
(2)就生日聚会这一话题分角色表演对话。
2. 难点:
序数词的构成和用法。
教学准备
教具:制作序数词和基数词的教学图片或幻灯片;设计课后巩固练习的幻灯片;录音机及本课的录音带或MP3。

Step 1 Warming up
Ask students about the birthdays in his or her family.
T:When is your birthday

Step 2 Presentation
1. Play a game to learn the differences between cardinal numbers and ordinal numbers.
T:Boys and girls,let’s play a game. Look at the numbers in the picture. Can you say them as quickly as you can

2. Task 1 Work in groups of four and discuss the rules of changing cardinal numbers into ordinal numbers. Then sum up as a pithy formula.
基变序,有规律,词尾加上-th(fourth,seventh)。 一,二,三,特殊记,词尾字母t,d,d(first,second,third)。 八去t,九去e,ve要用f替(eighth,ninth,fifth,twelfth)。 整十变y为ie,后加-th别忘记(fortieth)。 要是遇到几十几,只变个位就可以(twenty-first)。
3. Task 2 Translate the Chinese into English.

4. Pair Work.

Step 3 Role-play
1. Task 1 Listen to the conversation in 2e,and answer the questions.

2. Task 2 Read the conversation in 2e. Then role-play it.
T:Class! Someone’s birthday is coming. We will have a birthday party for him. He wants us to go to the party. What do you want to say to him Let’s make conversations in pairs,and then I will ask you to act them out.
For example:
A:Hi. Is your birthday coming
B:Yes.
A:When is your birthday

(2)一般情况下,在名词词尾加’s构成名词所有格,意为 “……的”,表示一种所属关系。

Ⅱ. 1. ninth 此处表示“第九个生日”,故用序数词,当序数词前有形容词性物主代词或名词所有格修饰时,序数词前不用the。
2. fourteenth 日期的表达应使用序数词。
3. Nick’s 空格处修饰birthday,应用名词所有格。一般情况下,在名词词尾加’s构成名词所有格,意为“……的”,表示一种所属关系。
4. twelve,twelfth 一年有12个月,其中12表示数量,应用基数词;December(十二月)是一年中的“第十二”个月,应用序数词。
5. to give want to do sth. 为固定用法,意为“想要做某事”。
6. years 根据句中ten判断,此处用复数形式years。句意:他十岁了。
