Ⅰ、Analysis of the Teaching MaterialsThis period is mainly about “sports”,talking about the differences ball games. With the help of expressions of comparative adjectives, students can compare different ball games.Students have learned a lot about sports, so it is not difficult for them to understand the meanings of new words from the context and can use some of them correctly while listening.Ⅱ、Teaching Objectives Knowledge Objectives:Students will recognize these new words and structures in the real circumstance:baseball volleyball practice stadium chance careless plenty pleased against hurt matter enjoyable coach loudly play tennis be sure about look tired not at all Nothing is more enjoyable than...... What’s the matter with...... What a pity! There is still plenty of time for them to score.Ability Objectives:All students are willing to use the comparatives to compare ball games.All students can grasp the two listening strategies with the help of listening to the materials.---finding key information, grasp more important information from the listening materials.(3) Some students will be able to compare different sports and talk about their favorite sport with comparatives.3、Moral Objectives: Sport is the source of life. It can bring us health, happiness and positive attitude towards life. Students can realize that no matter how busy we are, we all should do sports as often as we can.Ⅲ、Teaching Key and Difficult PointsKey Points: Key words.Learn to compare different ball games with comparatives. Practise listening strategies while listening.Difficult Points:Be able to talk about the differences between ball games.Learn to grasp key information quickly while listening.

Step 1 Lead-in
1. Self-introduction and share a video about Olympics with students. Warm up and make students pay attention to the motto of Olympics. Pay attention the comparative forms in the motto.
Step 2 Communication
Present many kinds of ball games and ask students some questions about these ball games. Say their feelings towards different ball games, and get to know more adjectives.
Step 3 Before listening
Show some questions to students, and encourage them to compare different ball games. Talk about some questions about different ball games and compare them with comparatives.
Step 4 Listening Practice
1. Show ball games on PPT.2. Show three sentences with blanks and tell some listening rules to students. Train the fast reading skill by number ball games. Listen again and get more detail information and fill in the blanks.
Step 5 While Listening
First listening: Ask students to listen to the tape carefully, get the key information quickly. And take notes for these questions.(1)What are they doing (2)What’s wrong with Tony (3)Does Tony like watching (4)What does Tony think of tennis 2. Second listening:Ask students pay attention to detail information. They should compare last week’s match and this week’s matchWatching the match and playing tennisWatching Olympics on TV and buying tickets for gamesStaying at home and going to the stadium Third listeningAsk student read the conversation after the tape and grasp more detail information. 1. Listen and grasp key information while first listening.Listen again and compare these key information.3. Repeat the conversation and check the sentences on PPT.
Step6 Group Work
Ask students to work in groups of five or six, the teacher may give an example.Choose a student in your group to be a sports reporter and interview the classmates.What sport would you like to choose to take part in during the sports meeting And why Students work in groups and make an interview.
Step7 Summary, Self-check and Homework
1. Summary:(1).Summarize the new words and key structures.(2).Summarize the expressions to compare different sports.2. Self-check(1). Ask students to check themselves about this class.(2). If they have any difficulties, they can ask their teacher or their good friends for help.3. My view about sportsSport is the source of life, sports can bring us health, happiness, power and positive attitude towards life.4. Homework:(1).
