本节课谈论的话题是喜欢的学科和一周的课程安排。通过互相询问和谈论彼此所喜欢的学科以及彼此理想的课程安排,可以增进同学之间的了解和友情,培养学生热爱学习的品质并养成良好的学习习惯。
教学目标
1. 知识目标:
(1)掌握单词及短语:free,cool,A. M. ,P. M. ,useful,Mrs. ,finish,lesson,hour,from...to...(一周七天在第二课时中因课堂需要已呈现)。
(2)掌握句型:I am very busy on Friday.
It is difficult but interesting.
It is easy and fun.
Lunch is from 12:00 to 1:00.
My classes finish at 1:50,but after that I have an art lesson for two hours.
2. 能力目标:
能够谈论一周的课程安排,学会合理安排自己的作息时间;能阅读有关课程安排的短文,并能获得相关信息。
3. 情感目标:
通过互相询问和谈论彼此所喜欢的学科以及课程安排,增进同学之间的了解和友情,培养良好的学习、生活习惯。

教具:反映日程安排的表格、图片或教学幻灯片、录音机、录音带或MP3。
教学过程
Step 1 Greeting and revision
1. Check the homework.
Review the sentence structures learned in Period 2. The teacher asks a student as a model.
For example:
T:What’s your favorite subject
S:My favorite subject is music.
T:Why do you like music
S:Because it’s interesting.
T:Who is your music teacher
S:Miss Han.
T:When is your music class
S:It’s on Tuesday.
2. Ask the students to work in pairs to make their own conversations. Let some pairs act out their conversations. The more,the better.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Review the days of a week by asking:
What day is it today
Ask the students to read and remember the days in a week. (Sunday,Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday)
2. Present the usage of “on+星期几”.
For example:
T:When is your art class
S:It’s on Monday.
T:When is your P. E. class
S:It’s on Thursday.
3. Present some new adjectives:free,cool,easy,busy.
Let the students read the words “free,cool,easy,busy” loudly. Then review the words:boring,difficult,interesting,fun.
4. Match the words with their opposites in 1a.
5. Write the following words.
没趣的 boring 容易的 easy
困难的 difficult 有趣的 interesting/fun
忙碌的 busy 空闲的 free
妙极的;酷的 cool
Step 3 Listening and Practice
1. Ask the students to listen and check the words they hear in 1a. Check the answers.
Answers:difficult,interesting
2. Read through the schedule. Talk about David’s schedule.
For example:
T:What classes does David have on Monday
S:He has science,English,Chinese,P. E. ,geography and art.
T:Then what activity does David have on Saturday
S:He has a soccer game.
T:What activity does David have on Sunday
S:Bill’s birthday party.
3. Ask the students to listen and circle the classes David talks about,and then ask them to listen again to check the answers.
Answers:Chinese,math,history,science,music
4. Make a report according to the information in 1c.
For example:
David has two math classes on Tuesday. He doesn’t like math because it’s difficult...
5. Look at the schedule in 1c and complete the conversation in 1d. The students practice the conversation with their partners.
6. The students talk about their classmates’ favorite subjects using the conversation in 1d.
Step 4 Reading
Before reading:
Review all the descriptions. Then discuss:What do you think of these subjects Write a description for each one in 2a.
Answers will vary.
While reading:
1. Fast reading.
T:Jenny is Yu Mei’s penfriend. Yu Mei writes a letter to Jenny to tell her about her classes on Friday. Now read the letter quickly and find the answer to this question:
What’s Yu Mei’s favorite subject
Answer:Chinese. /Her favorite subject is Chinese.
2. Close reading.
T:Read the letter again. Underline the subjects Yu Mei likes. Circle the subjects she doesn’t like.

3. After reading:
(1)Complete Yu Mei’s schedule with the information in 2b.

(2)Work in groups.
①useful形容词,意为“有用的;有益的”。
助记:
use+(形容词后缀)-ful→useful
This is a useful book. 这是一本有用的书。
注意: useful作定语修饰可数名词单数时,其前的不定冠词应用a,而不用an。
②from...to...为介词短语,意为“从……到……”,用来表示时间、地点等范围。
从周一到周五from Monday to Friday
从北京到上海from Beijing to Shanghai
③“for+一段时间”表示“持续某段时间”。
