教学内容分析 本课是九年级上册Module1 Wonders of the world中的Unit2,以读写为主要学习任务。学生在Unit1的学习中了解到了很多世界上的奇迹这一话题,本课则随着一位旅行者的经历去切身感受大峡谷的壮美。在语言知识方面要求学生进一步学习基本的时态运用,这在学生书面表达中会得到应用。
学情分析 对于学生而言,大峡谷是一个陌生的地方,大部分学生对它的印象只是停留在一图片上的展示,没有一个从内心的感受。在本课中,学生们可以跟随着作者的脚步浏览大峡谷,从作者的视角体会大峡谷的雄伟,自然有了身临其境的感受。在语法方面,学生继续复习和使用六种时态的句子,因为是复习性的知识,所以在运用上不会形成太大的障碍,此时教师可以在书面表达上加以强化,使学生对知识点的理解上更加深刻。

(T) Make the students grasp the new words and expression.(Ss) Look at the pictures and say the English words. Make sentences with them. Then say the Chinese meaning of the words given.(T) Check and help if necessary. (T) Ask the students to talk in pairs, make sure they have understood the words in the box.(Ss) Work in pairs. Talk about a great natural wonder they know. They can use the words in the box for help. (T) Play the recording for the students, ask them to say how deep/wide/long the canyon is.(Ss) Listen and fill in the table.(T) Check the answer. Play the recording again, ask the students to check the true sentences.(Ss) Listen and check the true sentences.(T) Check. Then ask them to read the passage and choose the correct answer.(Ss) Read the passage loudly, after reading, they should choose the correct answer for the questions.(T) Check the answers.
