系动词
系动词, 后接表语, 构成系表结构, 说明主语的状况、性质、特征等情况。目前需掌握的系动词主要有:
1. 系动词be(am,is are), 用来表示主语状态。如:
She is a teacher. 她是一名教师。
2. 感官动词表示人的感官动作。我们学过了五个与人的感觉有关的动词,它们是look, sound, smell, taste和feel, 我们称之为感官动词。如:
These flowers smell very sweet.
这些花闻起来很香。
The idea sounds interesting.
这个主意听起来很有趣。
This bed feels hard.
这张床摸起来硬硬的。
The song sounds beautiful. 这歌听起来真美。
You look pretty. 你看起来很漂亮。
感官动词(feel / smell / sound / look / taste ...)的用法:
1. 感官动词均可作连系动词, 后面接形容词作表语, 说明主语所处的状态。其意思分别为“看/听/闻/尝/感觉起来……”。除look之外, 其他几个动词的主语往往是物, 而不是人。如:

4. 感官动词的否定和疑问形式要借助助动词。如:The shirt feels soft.

1.Say please and thank you whenever you can. People are more likely to respond to a request if they hear please at the end of it. Also, when someone does something for you, say thank you.
