This is Xibaipo, a small mountain village in Hebei. I’m a girl. I was born and grew up here. When I was 10 years old, I became a guide at Xibaipo Memorial Hall(西柏坡纪念馆). During my summer vacation, I would go to the museum and tell visitors about the history of my hometown.
In May 1948, the headquarters(总部) of the CPC(中国共产党) moved here. Chairman Mao Zedong and other leaders gave orders to the army here. They led soldiers to win many battles(战役), such as Liaoshen, Huaihai and Pingjin.
In 1949, Chairman Mao had an important meeting at Xibaipo. During the meeting, the Party decided to move their work focus(工作重心) from the countryside to the cities. They also made many important decisions(决定) for New China.
