Step1 Enjoy the power of colours (lead-in)Before the class, I will play a video about a colourful island in Venice and some colourful pictures about our nature .Then I ask them to tell me their favourite colours.(2)I wil show them two videos ,one shows them something interesting between the color and science while the other shows them something interesting between the colours and animalsWhat about colours and moods We will discover the power of colours.Step2 Discover the power of colours (pre-listening)(1)I will connect each part by the main line : I will come to my best friend’s birthday party, I want them to help me to choose the colours of my clothes.(2) I will show them some beautiful pictures to lead them to know some knowledge about colours and moods. So they can know calm colours, warm colours, energetic colours and strong colours.(3)I will let them to play a guessing game “who is he?” then I lead them to the theme: Colour therapy. And teach them some of the new words.(4)I will ask the students what they think what colour therapist is.Colour therapy is a way to use colours to change people’s moods and improve their lives.Then I will teach the students the other new words by introducing Mrs Rainbow.(5)I will let the students know more about Mrs Rainbow’s colour therapy by reading the advertisement.I will explain to them that this part on the paper is an advertisement.Tell the students must use the information in the advertisement to complete Millie’s notes. Then check the answer.Step3 Discover the power of colours (While-listening)(1)I will let the students listen to the interview with Mrs Rainbow carefully and complete the rest blanks in Part A1.Then ask the students to check the answer.(2)Activity :“When you....What colour do you want to choose ”Show the students different colourful clothes and let the students understand the knowledge of colours and moods better. (3)Let the students listen to Suzy’s questions. And circle the corret letters.(4)Let the students listen to Suzy’s questions. And circle the corret letters. Step4 Discover the power of colours (Post-listening)Activity:Open your own colour therapy. I will give the students some examples and let them to give the proper advice about colours. Then can use the therapy to give people different ideas about colours according to the different situations.Step5 Create the power of colour (Speak up)1. Show the students some sentences on the screen for students to use. 2 Work in pairs.Ask one student to play the role of Millie and another one to play the role of Andy.Ask them to refer to the passage and the sentence on the screen to check what different colors represent.3.Role—playing.Step5 Sum up Review the new words and sentences to express the preference. Go on enjoying,discovering and creating the power of colours. I want to attract students interest. By showing the power of colours from different respacts to let the student enjoy the power of colours and learn some relevant knowledge about colours. Lead the students to know something about colour therapy ,then make them interested in the advertisement.Teach them new words. They can get ready for the listening.Let the students discover the power of colours by listening .So they can learn more about the colours and moods,and can use colour therapy well.Practice using the colour therapy to help others to solve some problems.Let the Students learn how to express their preference so that they can connect the language knowledge with the colour therapy.They can learn more by speaking up and role-playing.
