本节课是一节阅读课。初到一个国家，要充分了解当地的风土人情，才能更好的理解地方文化差异，更好的与他人相处。本课的课文从这个角度出发，以主人公王辉在英国的所见所闻，向学生介绍了英国的传统生活习俗。学生通过阅读，能够了解英国的文化，同时与中国文化作对比，再通过拓展阅读了解不同国家的习俗，拓展国际视野，培养文化包容心，促进跨文化交际意识的发展。
教学目标
1.知识目标：能够识读重点词汇及短语。2.能力目标：能读懂介绍某地风俗、社会行为的文章，并能从中获取相关信息；能使用can, must, need谈论生活习俗或社会行为；能够运用scanning阅读策略进行细节性阅读。3.情感目标：了解并尊重其他国家的传统习俗和生活方式，增强跨文化意识，培养文化包容心。
