It takes plenty of time for some adults to try to stop children playing. They are usually people who think of play as being the 1 of work and therefore a waste of time. For humans, work is a way of getting food to eat, and like humans, 2 must spend time doing the 3 things. Regardless of this, children 4 playing, and so do other young animals. It is quite 5 to keep both a small child and a young cat 6 for hours with a piece of paper.
Hunting may be the most obvious skill 7 in play, but it is far from being the only one. Lambs and goat kids play 8 , although as adults they will never 9 anything other than some grass. But for these young animals too, 10 is an important part of learning. Sheep and goats are 11 hill and mountain animals. Running and skipping exercise young legs and develop a strong sense of 12 that will keep them safe on the steepest rocks.
13 animals' play, children's play is not so different. 14 trees and catching flies are not the most obvious training for the adult world, but the flexibility(灵活性) 15 in these activities is similar to that required of a bus driver or businessman.
What we know about animals shows us that playing is a very good way of 16 , so maybe one of the best ways for 17 to learn is also by playing. Children find playing is fun, but 18 notice that they are also learning at the same time. Most people continue to play games long after they have become 19 , and perhaps that is because we rely so much on our 20 to learn.

Young children across the globe enjoy playing games of hide and seek. For them, there's something highly exciting about 1 someone else's glance and making oneself unable to be seen.
However, we all witness that preschool children are remarkably 2 at hiding. They often cover only their eyes with their hands, leaving the rest of their bodies 3 .
For a long time, this ineffective hiding method was 4 as evidence that children are hopelessly "egocentric"(自我中心的) creatures. But our 5 research results in child developmental psychology 6 that idea.
We brought young children aged 2-4 into our Minds in Development Lab at USC. Each 7 sat down with an adult who covered her own eyes or 8 . We then asked the child if she could 9 or hear the adult. Surprisingly, children replied that they couldn't. The same 10 happened when the adult covered her own mouth: 11 children said that they couldn't 12 to her.
A number of 13 ruled out that the children misunderstood what they were being asked. The results were clear: Our young subjects 14 the questions and knew 15 what was asked of them. Their 16 to the questions reflected their true 17 that "I can see you only if you can see me, too." They simply 18 mutual(相互的) recognition and regard. Our 19 suggest when a child "hides" by putting a blanket over her head, it is not a result of egocentrism. In fact, children consider this method 20 when others use it.

But after 8 my items, the woman behind the counter spoke in Chinese, and all I could do was stare helplessly. I thought she was asking 9 or my card, so I pulled out some notes, but she 10 her head. We stood there for a few minutes 11 another cashier said, "A couple of your 12 are part of the sale and cannot be exchanged or 13 once bought."
Another day, I went to the police station as I had lost my wallet in a 14 land. During that 20-minute talk, I realized the eagerness and 15 of a person. A Morning When Everything Fell Into Place
I'd driven down to Los Angeles and I hadn't reserved a room anywhere. I 1 up at a Motel. From the look of things, I was deep in gang territory. I was nervous and felt 2 , but ended up having a good night's 3 . In the morning, as I was carrying my bags to the 4 , a young man standing in the parking lot shouted out, "Good morning!"

And then, continuing to look at me with his smile, he said, "Have a blessed day."

Getting into my car, and feeling lighter, I remembered the car needed gas. 8 around, I noticed that right next to the motel there was a gas station. Great! I filled the 9 . Okay. Expect the Unexpected
A couple of weeks ago, my grandfather was explaining his favorite expression, "Nothing is ever easy." The following day, as I tried to complete my day's work, I happened to 1 a bumblebee(大黄蜂) on the skylight(天窗). The skylight was particularly high up, but I thought 2 the bee would take no more than five minutes. An hour later, the bee still 3 .
All that had changed was that the living room was a 4 and that I was dizzy when 5 into the sunlight. I did not 6 to waste an hour on a tiny insect, but by doing so, I understood what my grandfather meant.
It is not only time that we tend to 7 —we don't take account of unexpected costs. We often imagine what can work 8 , but we seldom think of all the 9 things that could affect us. However, it is important to remember that your day of week or year might not go as planned, and that is completely normal. It is perfectly 10 to feel challenged—even in a task that you thought was simple 11 that is part of life.
If you can accept that nothing will ever be easy, then life might seem slightly more 12 . In middle school, I thought high school might be 13 because I could choose the classes I wanted to take. In high school, I thought college might be easier because I could have a schedule, 14 for myself. Yet I was 15 each time. After accepting that school wouldn't be easy, I found myself 16 a more positive attitude and 17 results.
Of course, there should be preparations made to take account of 18 or time. Doing so can only help you 19 your goals in a better way.
