When I was in primary school, sometimes I would meet a girl of the same age as me. Lisa was never active, but she was always very sweet and nice. In the 5th grade she came to my class. She was absent a lot, and one day I had the courage to ask why. She told me she was sick, and she explained she wore a wig (假发) because her medicine made her lose her hair. Since then, anytime Lisa came to class, I would hang around with her on the playground.
I received much ridicule (嘲笑) from my friends for this because they thought I was ignoring them for Lisa. My family education taught me to be nice, and I felt Lisa’s needs were much more important than others I knew.
It had been months since Lisa was in our class, and one day our teacher was crying. She explained Lisa died the day before and would no longer be our classmate. She told us Lisa had fought a battle (斗争) with cancer for years.
I was shocked. Lisa never spoke of her illness as if it could kill her. Well, all these years I have kept Lisa in my mind and heart. When I go through the important events in my life, I think of Lisa.
I’ve had a strong wish recently to find her mother and father. I’d like to tell them that though they never met me, their daughter had a sweet effect on my life. I have no idea what her parents’ first names are. I write to your column (专栏) and hope you can point me in the right direction.
Lisa was such a lovely girl. Maybe her parents would be comforted by the fact that after all these years they are not the only ones who remember her.
24. Why was the author being laughed at
A. Because she wore a wig to school.
B. Because she always kept Lisa company.
C. Because she cried in the classroom.
D. Because she lost her friends because of Lisa.
25. What can we know about the author from the passage
A. She had known Lisa since they were born.
B. She has been to Lisa’s house.
C. She has a good family education.
D. She was the first one to know about Lisa’s death.
26. What did the author learn from Lisa
A. To keep your illness a secret.
B. To be nice to everyone everywhere.
C. To face challenges in life bravely.
D. To put others’ needs above yours.
27. The author wrote this passage mainly to ________.
A. remember a true friend
B. ask for help to find a friend’s parents
C. show her concern for a friend
D. tell her experience of fighting cancer

Solar (太阳能) water heaters can use energy from the sun to heat water. They are used around the world. The solar water heater is based on a design developed some years ago in Afghanistan. Since then, it has been built and used in many countries. It can heat seventy liters (升) of water to 60℃. It can do this between sunrise and noon on a clear day with an average temperature of 32℃.
There are two parts of the solar water heater. One part, the collector, is made of a metal plate painted black. This metal surface, placed in contact with the water, will heat the water. Black-painted surfaces that receive the sun’s heat become hotter than those of any other color. Metal plates that have raised parts on the surface work better than those without them. Once the water is heated, it is kept hot with special material, which allows the water to stay warm for a long time.
The second part of the solar water heater holds the water for the system. This water tank (水箱) can hold about one hundred liters of water. Two rubber pipes are connected to the water tank. One pipe lets water go into the system. The other lets water go out.
When the water heater is working correctly, water will flow from the tank to the collector and back again. You can use the hot water at the top of the tank for washing and cleaning. This solar water heater is easy to build and operate. It will last about two years before the rubber pipes need to be replaced.
32. We can learn that solar water heaters ________.
A. have three basic parts in their system
B. are hardly able to heat water above 60℃
C. are used widely by people all over the world
D. can heat water even on cold and rainy days

A. it is the cheapest color paint
B. it can be found easily in daily life
C. it can take in more energy than other colors
D. it is good for protecting the metal surface
34. What does the underlined word “pipes” in Paragraph 3 mean
A. The systems of keeping water clean.
B. The boxes used to keep water warm.
C. The tools that control water temperature.
D. Long objects through which water flows.
35. What is the text mainly about
A. The history of solar water heaters.
B. Knowledge of solar water heaters.
C. The advantages of solar water heaters.
D. The steps of operating a solar water heater.

He placed a large stone in the middle of the main street and hid a diamond under the stone .Then he hid behind a huge maple tree and watched.
The first person down the street was a milkman with his cart. He crashed into the stone, spilling the milk everywhere. “What fool put this stone here ”he shouted. He picked himself up and angrily went away. After a while, a group of women came along, each balancing a pot of water on her head. One woman tripped over the stone and her water pot went crashing to the ground. She picked herself up and walked away in tears. Neither she nor her friends thought about moving the stone out of the road.

67.【答案】Just then, the king saw a young boy coming along. He was the son of a local farmer. He had been working all day and was very tired. But when he saw the stone, he said to himself, “This stone is a danger to anyone who comes down the street after dark. I’ll move it out of the way.” The boy pushed the stone with all his strength. After a great deal of effort, he finally succeeded in moving it to the side of the street. Imagine his surprise when he saw the diamond where the
stone had been!
Just then, the king stepped out from behind the tree. “Oh sir,” the boy said, “does this diamond belong to you If not, we surely must find the owner, for he will certainly miss it.” The king said, “My dear, the diamond is mine. I put it in the road and moved the stone over it. Now the diamond is yours, because you are the only person who has learnt the lesson I wanted to teach my people.”

【原文】M: This was a worrying moment: a mother elephant tried to pull her baby out of a well after staying by his side for 11 hours. The mum refused to leave her baby, first using her trunk and then her feet to make her baby safe. The anxious mother elephant pushed more mud into the well and it almost covered the baby who was trapped from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning. The little elephant was in great danger. But thankfully people living nearby heard the sad cries of the mother elephant. They immediately rushed to the scene to see what had happened. The villagers found the mother refused to leave. So the villagers had to stand far away to watch. Then kind-hearted villagers tried their best to get the mother away for a while with bananas and used the time to remove some of the soil. At last the mother tightly wrapped her trunk around the baby’s body and pulled him out. Then the tired mother and her baby happily walked away side by side.
