句中常带有表示比较范围的介词in…或of…
e.g. Yao Ming is the tallest of the players.
注:形容词最高级前必须加the
e.g. Tom is the tallest in his class.
Pattern practice
1. A: Bob’s a tall boy.
B: Yes, but John’s taller than Bob.
2.A: Bob, John and Dan are all tall.
B: Yes, but Dan’s the tallest of the
three.
3.A: Who’s taller---Bob or John
/Which is hotter---June or July
B: Oh, John’s the taller of the two.
/Oh, July is the hotter of the two.

A: Who’s the tallest boy in our class
B: Dan is. Dan’s the tallest.
5.
A: John’s taller than Bob.
B: You’re right. But Dan’s taller than John.
In fact, Dan’s the tallest boy in our class.
