The theme of the talking and speaking part of this lesson is "Show or accept kindness". The first activity is listening to the radio and answering questions. The host visited a guest named Kevin, and the radio program was called Rush Hour Show. The guest gave some examples to the host and the audience to explain what "paying it forward" is. Second, ask students to listen to the radio again and fill in the blanks, and check their mastery of words. This activity requires students and the group to share a story that they have heard or expressed kindness or acceptance. The theme of the Assessing Your Progress & Project is "Making a poster to Promote Practical Virtues". After learning the contents of this unit, students can learn about the deeds and moral stories of famous virtue representatives at home and abroad. Through the study of the text, students can understand the noble character of characters and establish their correct world outlook, outlook on life and values. Activity requires students to brainstorm, list more relevant words about virtues, and finally point out the virtues most needed by people in our society. Students are required to collect famous quotes related to virtue, and make a poster about virtue to encourage people to practice it. Through study, students have accumulated knowledge, shaped their character and established a correct world outlook, outlook on life and values.

Shawn Seipler is on the way to
saving lives with soap. It began about seven years ago as a tiny business with a
few friends and family in a single car garage in Florida, where they recycled used soap into
fresh bars. The organization, now called Clean the World, has grown to include cities
where hotels are plentiful and used bars of soap can be gathered easily.
As a frequent traveler while working
for a tech company, Seipler had a sudden thought one night at a hotel. "I picked
up the phone and called the front desk and asked them what happened to the bar of
soap when I was done using it, "he recalled. Learning that they would go to
the dustbin, he began his task to help save lives with soap and even half-used bottles
of shampoo. It's a huge problem. One of the most common kinds of illnesses in the
world are those that are passed from person to person and to oneself because of
dirty things that are on one's hands.
In the U. S. and other developed
nations, hygiene (卫生) products are everywhere.
Not so in some other countries, where Seipler recalled visiting a hospital once
in the Middle East to find that soap was in such short supply that patients had
to provide their own. "It's such an important part of the interruption of infectious
germs that could save so many lives," he said.
Clean the World now collects used
soap from more than 4, 000 hotels and has delivered 25 million bars to 99 countries.
The process is fairly simple with the collected soap being cut into pieces and then
run through machines that remove any remaining bacteria before being pressed into
new bars of soap and packaged for delivery.

Host: Oh,so it’s like helping a stranger. Can you give us an example of how it works
Kevin: Well,I’m sure you’ve heard the famous country song,“The Chain of Love”. The song starts with
a man who helps a lady whose car has broken down. The lady wants to pay him,but he won’t
accept payment,instead telling the woman to just show kindness to another person. Later,when the
lady stops at a café,she notices her waitress is pregnant and tired. When the lady finishes eating,
she pays for her meal with a hundred-dollar bill. Then the lady walks out, leaving the change and
a note for the waitress. Her note tells the waitress to continue the chain of kindness. The song has
a surprise ending. The waitress goes home to her husband,happy because of the kindness the lady
showed her. Then we find out that he’s the man who first started the chain of kindness!
